hes just a spoiled brat whos never been told no, never allowed to face consequences for his actions and forced to interact with people superior to him in everywayThe crown prince... is he a product of his family tree going unnaturally vertical and now spread out as it were? So either Mana or Lunaria would bring outside blood to the group.
Also importantly this testimony has already sown the seeds of doubt in the 4 capture target witnesses. While the crown prince may be so obstinate that he's blind to his own brainwashing out of pure pride, the other capture targets started questioning their own memories when the memories of what they actually did on those days were brought up because they made more sense than their false memories. The one who bought his sister's birthday present in particular stands out because he clearly remembers giving his sister the present he bought but is completely unable to remember buying it. Maybe given time they'd be able to figure it out just by reflecting on their memories and the testimony of these two witnesses, but I think the next witness is going to put the final nail in the coffin, and no matter how much the prince can sway the audience with his domineering attitude, there's no way they'll be able to turn things back around when all 4 capture targets rescind their testimonies and maybe even start screaming bloody murder because I know I would if I realized someone had tampered with my mind to use me as a false witness like Mana did.with the two first i'm almost certain that they are not mean to defend her but setting the mood so to speak
it's more of a popularity contest than a tribunal, she can't "win" directly against the saintess because of her naturally high thrust and popularity. she has prepared the terrain by not definitively counter their argument, but cast doubt on their witness and the shadow that the saintess may not be as trustworthy as she appear and her next witness will probably deal a debilitating blow
From the novel yes, the prince is spoiled rotten by his parents. If I'm correct, the brainwashing is supposed to change memory only, not personality. If that's the case, the prince is that trash even without the influence.
Pretty sure its not even changing just adding, thats why theyre confused when he points out they were doing other things on the same dayIf I'm correct, the brainwashing is supposed to change memory only, not personality. If that's the case, the prince is that trash even without the influence.

It's not that he doesn't remember buying the present, it's that another memory had been squeezed in a spot of his timeline that doesn't make sense logically to him. Also importantly this testimony has already sown the seeds of doubt in the 4 capture target witnesses. The Saint is the one providing the tools for her own downfall. As Lunaria "mentioned" earlier, if the Saint stuck with just brainwashing the prince, Lunaria would be stuck in a he said she said against the prince. The only reason it is this much effort is the princes influence makes people want to side with him, but his weak accusations and lack of proof alone against her reputation and influence would make it not truly condemning. The saint is not stupid, otherwise her plan wouldn't take this much effort to dismantle
This arc is even dryer than the cow right now
Sometimes it's not a matter of trying to win, it's to make sure they lose, even if a 'winner' is never decided.with the two first i'm almost certain that they are not mean to defend her but setting the mood so to speak

funny words, magic manDoes glottochronology implies that there's also palatochronology because I could've sworn glottalization was a phoneme formation while the phoneme change was palatalization
