It's getting fucking annoying. Constant overthinking with never acting up on anything. It's just a lines and lines of dialogue with nothing but pointless anxiety. I just speedread this shit now, dialogue has no deeper purpose anyways. The author's one shots were so good but seems like they get lost in long format

I'm starting to suspect the people who say shit like this read manga for the cool shapes and wooshy action lines. If you think dialogue has no deeper purpose, then I'd be ready to recommend solo leveling to you.

His reaction to hearing "best friends" was seemingly sadness. He's been obsessing over her hating him for days now and gets hit with that. Its another notch in the "he will realize he actually likes Lemon" category.

I feel so many people dont get what a slow burn romance is, or the little signs, they think "nothing happened" when really this was pretty important.

My man if the only thing of note in a chapter is one facial expression, that's a nothingburger.

Also it looked like confusion/frustration rather than sadness. Why is she distant with me if she considers me her best friend kinda deal.

You're literally reading a young adult soap opera in manga form, I don't see how you figure that makes you better than someone who reads a slightly different type of children's comic book. Cringe af.

It's been near 80 chapters and we're still getting the same "oh but did she/he mean THAT when they said that???? I'm so confused, better ask a supporting character". Rinse and fucking repeat. That deserves criticism.

So many of these people want paper-thin caricatures who tightly slot into well established anime character archetypes. Then they get frustrated when a character acts like an actual human with human flaws and makes stupid human mistakes. Maybe these people don't like seeing deeply flawed characters who are more real and mirror themselves to some degree in their media, I dunno.

No one is saying that? People are very clearly complaining about formulaic writing that does nothing but pad the page count. That you think that means they want simpler characters is just down to your lack of reading comprehension (some arrogance too), which is probably also the reason you don't see the flaws that are ever more apparent in this manga.

Just gonna wade through all the forum drama and bickering to say that these panels hit me so hard. I almost started tearing up because it felt so good and wholesome! I think Lemon genuinely means it and I think that, despite his confusion/mixed reaction, Sunao is probably relieved to hear her say that even if it just brings up more questions in his mind. I don't particularly have any hopes for who ends up with who romantically, but I definitely want Lemon and Sunao to be close again and I'm happy with the progress they've made (even if there's still a ways to go)!
