Okay, I have questions
How does Japanese clergy work and how different is it from the western one? Is it like professional Chirstianity cosplay?

Speaking of which, Hime mentioned something interesting. She came up with her dream of marrying into money in middle school after her fallout with Yano. Makes me wonder if there is a deeper connection there.
There's also that one line in Hime and Yano's backstory where Hime says, "When a girl stops acting cute, people stop liking her."

It's all connected, to her "dream" and to her rejection of Mitsuki, I know it :thonk:
Even though she's framed as the main character, Hime is probably one of the characters we understand the least at the moment. But the threads have been quietly piling up in the background this entire time. :shamihuh:
I love it, Miman-sensei has been cooking.

Yeah I can see it's ending soon probably this volume or next one
Seriously doubt it.
It feels like it's been years since we've had an actual moment out of the Liebe setting between Hime and Yano  Since quite a few volumes at least, so in reality, it probably HAS been a couple years.
Keep in mind, Miman also took a 2 year hiatus...
There are christians in Japan and real, actual christian priests.
Just not many... like... about 1% of the population... if that....

It has been so long since we had the main couple in focus that I don't remember if they were in good terms or bad.
I will need to re-read the first chapters again, I felt pretty lost reading this one

"For years I've been working towards this dream and I'm awfully anxious and insecure about it. I've talked about my dread for the future with every friend and acquaintance I have but only after talking to Yano do I feel relieved and excited about working together towards my goal. But it's all because of my dream".

Yea ok gurl.

I was so happy to see a chapter come out. Hime dream is kinda cool. I have a feeling about Yano's family but I am not sure yet. Thanks for the chapter and translation. Please keep them chapters coming

I suspected that this is the direction the new Hime/Yano arc would go. Now that Hime has accepted Yano’s feelings, and is choosing to work at Liebe of her own free will, I thought it would be about time to address that elephant in the room.

For the longest time, I wanted to get inside Hime’s head on this “dream“ of hers. I don’t think she‘s ever really thought it through, and this chapter proved it. She hasn’t even figured out the first step of where she’ll supposedly find these marriage candidates, much less how she‘ll build an actual relationship with them with such a shallow facade.

I‘d also like to ask her if there are other qualifiers for her marriage candidates besides just being rich. What about age, gender, or personality? What about getting physical? What if her future spouse wants or has kids? What is Hime willing to accept, and what will she offer/sacrifice?

As for Yano, it seems like this is an opportunity to explain her family and financial situation. Especially because I know we were all thinking when we saw her house in the flashback, “why not marry this girl?! She comes from money and she’s already into you! Win-win!”

Speaking of which, Hime mentioned something interesting. She came up with her dream of marrying into money in middle school after her fallout with Yano. Makes me wonder if there is a deeper connection there.
Yeah, I dont get ppl thinking this is a sign of the manga ending. If anything, this is where chapter 1 left off. It really is that simple, to marry into money you have to be in places they'd hang out at the very least, so you'd need some money yourself or at least work where they'd be. That is an extremely long term goal when you're a mere high schooler.

There's something kind of intriguing in just how little we know about the central character to this story.

All the others orbit around Hime in some fashion, either directly or through someone else (including Gotou, even).

But Hime remains a relative black box, and not even because of the segue into Kanoko & Sumika's story - she's just...shallow, but like conceptually. We know she's fake to everyone, and that she wants to marry rich, and that she doesn't want to fall in love. There's such a dearth of nuance to her compared to everyone else, that it feels incredibly intentional and like it's all been set up, including the Kanoko & Sumika arc, to suddenly blow up a bunch of threads dropped along the way, or something, and Hime's entire characterization will snap into focus.

I truly hope it's nowhere near done, because this feels like we're shifting into third gear, right now.

THIS.
This is why I told <whomever it was> that I seriously doubt it's going to be ending soon...

I know the author took a year to focus on her health (which, duh - absolutely the correct move, even great yuri manga isn't worth the creator's wellbeing in my mind) - but calling this "ending" just doesn't feel correct, what with how much of the story I suspect is left to tell.

We spent all that time developing one of the other main characters of the series (Kanoko is the other protagonist alongside Hime, I'm convinced of this - that wasn't a segue into side character arcs, but just fleshing out one half of the larger tale before getting into this half), and it was done well enough in my mind that I have faith the author's going to give the same amount of attention and care to Hime's story.

Now that Kanoko has been able to make peace with where she sits alongside Hime, and has found Sumika who will be able to help her have a healthier outlook and mindset when it comes to relationships, it's Hime's time to step into the spotlight and get her up to speed in the same manner.

Also - I came into this literally on Friday, and found & read the whole thing from chapter 1 up to here last night/this morning - and I'm betting that no small amount of the misgivings about it "ending" and the duration of Kanoko's story comes from the author's needed sabbatical.

Because reading this all from chapter 1 in nearly a single sitting, made it flow pretty nicely, including the entire arc with Kanoko, Sumika, Nene, and Gotou. It doesn't feel dragged out, and it certainly (in my mind) sets up Hime's story here with Yano. So I'm guessing the release schedule + the break makes everything feel both dragged out and like it's speeding toward a conclusion.

Beautiful chapter. What a wonderful feeling it is to have Hime and Yano back as the central characters after so long (literally almost 6 years). I have to admit I had a couple of mini heart attacks reading so many people interpreting the beginning of this Arc as a sign that the end is relatively near, because I don't think if I'm ready yet to say goodbye to this manga that I love so much.
That being said, I have 100% trust in Miman, especially since I know for a fact that she's the one who cares the most about the quality of her work (something that should be obvious to anyone who pays attention to the details of its storytelling since the very first chapter).

I truly hope it's nowhere near done, because this feels like we're shifting into third gear, right now.
In my ideal world, we should have about 7 or 8 volumes ahead of us to satisfactorily wrap up all the storylines. We'll see. It does seems like a lot, but I never would have imagined that the Kanoko and Sumika Arc would last that long neither.

The only thing I pray is that the publisher lets her finish the manga her way, taking all the time she needs. Those who enjoy this manga, please support it by buying the digital versions of the Japanese volumes. They're quite cheap.

P.S.: New chapter confirmed for this month!

7-8 more volumes isn't a lot, honestly.

I binged all 72 chapters in about 30 hours or so, and I was surprised getting to the author notes and realizing I'd read three volumes' worth when it felt like barely one, and that happened several times.

The release schedule might make this feel slower than it is, but it truly was well-paced, consuming it all in effectively one sitting. So I'm super glad I caught up when I did, to experience this turning point in the story alongside everyone else.

Well, under normal circumstances, no, but we're talking about a monthly magazine where it's very rare for a series to last this long: Yuru Yuri is the longest-running series in the magazine's history with 23 volumes published so far. It's followed by Wataten (completed) and Citrus (ongoing) with 16 volumes each.
To give you some perspective, Yuri Is My Job! will be nine years old next month.
I remember finishing reading Volume 7 and thinking that the story had most likely already covered about half of its journey (fortunately, I was very wrong).

I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. I always say it's the most underrated Yuri manga of all time.
