Looks like everyone is having the same complaint at the same time - this situation has worn thin, and has dragged on for too many chapters. How many chapters has she been tied up on that cross, stuck in that one room, and misunderstanding the situation to an annoyingly absurd degree? Three? Four? If not not more, it says a lot that it feels like it's been that tediously long. :pout:
Luckily it looks like this situation is cleared up after this chapter... HOPEFULLY!

Thanks for the chapter!

To everyone complaining about her not noticing that the tank 11 is having a villain monologue, I am pretty sure that Kinoko is only noticing like a tenths of what he is saying, because she is spiralling in her own thoughts. Also I bet that Kinoko will figure out that these guys are evil once she sees her friend tied up behind her.

I kinda get why she hasn't caught on yet, she isn't actually listening to him, she just registers he's angry while she's trying to think of how to fix it. It's a very social anxiety/autistic response. She doesn't understand social cues, and is hung up on the emotions rather than the words being said.

On the other hand, my god girl, stop and pay attention for a moment, please.

I'm going to try and search if the stupid is toned down eventually. I can't continue reading this in the hope it will get better.

Exactly. So many people here aren't seeing Kino's perspective.

In this chapter we even get a bit more backstory for why she's so hung up on getting a friend. With how hard it was for her to befriend Usoyama, she's absolutely terrified of messing up and losing her.

It doesn't mean there are no issues, but most of the complaining I'm seeing in the comments amounts to people just completely disregarding Kino's character as she's established.

They're denying who she is and how her behaviour is logical to herself. They simply don't like her character, and that's fine, but at least realise that this story isn't for you and move on, instead of expecting something this story was never aiming to be and complaining about it.

It really feels like we're reading different stories. The complainers here seem to be trying to read some kind of serious intrigue from this story, and are obviously failing. It was never advertised as anything other than an action fantasy comedy. Comedy being the main focus.

And let me tell you, this page made me laugh out loud for quite a while.

The build up to it, and the full page showing how proud she is for figuring out (what she believes is) the correct thing to do is a masterpiece.

I'm pretty sure that every chapter so far has made me laugh at least once. So, as a comedy, it's doing its job wonderfully.

Edit: I've started re-reading from the beginning after posting this comment, because why not, and I though I'd add the explanation to Kino's behaviour in this chapter:

So, from her perspective, feeding blood to a Stranger is normal.

After speaking to the President here, she starts thinking and hears absolutely nothing else:

This part here looks like Kino finally understood what is going on after hearing everything, but in reality she's still deaf to everything, immersed in her own mind:

It's just the author using clever timing/coincidence and misdirecting the readers in order to enhance the comedic force of the following part.

Re-reading it, I haven't actually found any inconsistencies. Everything makes sense with what was established in previous chapters. It's not the story's fault that some readers' expectations were misplaced.

I think people are complaining simply because the overarching plot isn't advancing as fast as in the typical isekai slop they're used to.

Most people aren't detail-oriented, so they see that we're still in the same location and think that nothing has changed, without paying any attention to what has actually happened. Notice how most comments complaining don't go into any level of detail about what is actually wrong.

It also doesn't help that there's half a month between each chapter. Most people's memory (including mine) just sucks. This type of story works much better when binging it, as I've just confirmed for myself.

nice deduction and explaining the story so far as well as the current chapter!, the part where she raises her hand is very cute as well as fucking hilarious, i know she can just beat it like usual with some resistance but i would still like her to get some common sense before going all shabam kablam woosh woosh kinda thing y'know? hahahaha
