I really like this characterization, I think this type of person is painfully common, someone who is skeptical of their own feelings, always assuming that other people are having "real" interior lives that they are incapable of. It isn't often that they can have this sort of epiphany... not that there's some impossible quality they're lacking, but that what they were experiencing has all the wonder and magic that they were looking for.

I never thought this manga would end up going in such a wholesome direction for this couple, but I'm really impressed with how Paru has built up his character to the extent that I'd end up rooting for him.

I suppose. My only issue is that I’m not really rooting for her. It feels like all the characterization went to the husband only. It’s like Paru wants me to just skip past and forget that she cheated on him with a ghost the past 20 chapters simply because now it’s going well. We haven’t seen her become a better character, only him. Like not even a proper apology or anything. And as far as I see it, we’re not getting it either. Just last chapter she was all about her love for the ghost and bordeline breaking down over it. That doesn’t make for a “wholesome chungus” story to me.
