The last ever dolphins message was misinterpreted as a surprisingly sophisticated attempt to do a double backward somersault through a hoop whilst whistling "The Star-Spangled Banner", but in fact the message was this: "So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish."

I guess it's not such a big gap for them, but just that it feels bad for me to be having lewd thoughts about well, underage girls? =/ (recently hit 39 years old)
There is an entire manga about this very problem... Sono Akuyaku Kizoku, Mama Heroine ga Suki Sugiru ~Shinshi na Doryoku de Saikyou to Nari Fuguu na Oshi Chara Tasukemakuru~ is the one I originally thought of, because of the MC's reaction to people his own given age... But the other "mom" one could be considered in the same vein.

Honestly anyone who gets isekai-ed is in for a world of hurt unless they appear in their exact same aged body.

18+ and reincarnated as a baby, fuck you as you are either a "lolicon" or you force your love interests to be one... You LITERALLY CANNOT WIN under these circumstances.

But, on the other hand once both parties pass the "age of majority" an age gap becomes more of a minor issue. Most isekai are medieval at best so age of majority around 15-16, if not puberty...
And, really, when in a world where not following the ideology of the locals can (and likely WILL) literally get you killed, whose to be choosy about "which" aspect of the ideology you follow...

Follow the laws to the best of your ability, add your own morality as the sprinkles on top - and explicitly understand it as such.

PostScript I could go into the whole "slavery" thing, but given the context of what I am replying to I will do that if anyone is interested and only then.

I forgot to put a 'reply' in:

Would you please reply to the "slavery" thing?
Sure.

I'm pretty sure that everyone here can agree that slavery = bad. But realistically that's in a real world context. In the real world the only type of paying in exchange for human life that isn't bad is adoption. With adoption you only "own" the person in-so-far as a parent owns their children...
All other forms of slavery, from outright slavery to wage slaves is bad by definition.

But we don't have the system in place to allow for a form of slavery... Of selling oneself or "employing" current criminals... that isn't, by definition, evil.
Imagine a world where a person could sell themselves into an employer-employee relationship where the terms are more favorable than wage slaves, but the "employee" is forced into silence by "mystical forces" (i.e. not violence, but magic). Or the employee could set their terms for "employment" but were sworn to those terms for the duration of their service period, and still sworn to silence.
There have been "slavery" systems in manga that are vastly better that anything on Earth. Most of them require magic of some sort (or technology advanced enough to replicate the effect), but some of them just require people to be more civilized with one another before they could be implemented.

So, is slavery wrong? That depends on which "world" we are talking about. This Earth we live on, well, duh, I doubt anyone with half a brain cell could argue with that... But there is something to be said for the system which this world our MC lives in.
No, it isn't perfect by any metric. But the people seem to be treated fairly. There is a distinction between "sex", "combat" and "other" slavery (if memory serves). At times it even seems that they can set their own terms (that may just be my wishful thinking though). Additionally and importantly it doesn't appear that there are mass captures of innocent people for selling purposes and I haven't "seen" any specific racial discrimination. Two things that add to slavery's abhorrentness.

While it isn't the best system I've seen (that goes to the one in the isekai manga where the MC has a gate to other worlds called the "moon gate" and finds Japan. I can't remember the name but if anyone else reads this I am sure they will correct me...) it certainly isn't the worst (that honor goes to our great ol' US of A back in the day... Fight me, I'm American myself (please don't fight me)).

To make a long comment short, I'd say what the system in the MC'S world needs is a term limit, and additional, admissable protections for those who sell themselves or those who have "light crimes". (Admissable as in can be waived) Among some other tweaks.

I tend to drag on, so I'll shut up here. I'm happy to continue the discussion though.

I'm reading the LN right now..............not really feeling Miria as a character
In fact, none of them past Miria really are, but let's hope mangaka somewhat enhances them, so far he's been doing a good job.
Miria is the worst girl, her entire bit is "Dumb kot who only thinks of and chases after fish" which isn't that interesting in the long run.

Honestly I do like the 4th girl a lot personally, and the changes to the LN have notably raised my interest in the 5th girl - we've barely had that much time to properly get to know her in either the WN or LN though as there's not been that much in the way of novel written after her introduction.
