i kinda miss the shenanigans with the little kids
Man living in japanese ghost world is such bullshit. Just like creepypasta world (if you've seen that one youtube video you know what I mean). Imagine picking up a coin and getting slimed because "ruh roh, you now owe the spooky ghost compensation! With your life!" Icl man if I died this way I'm coming back and haunting every motherfucker alive
Maybe that's why there's so many ghosts aroundman if I died this way I'm coming back and haunting every motherfucker alive
The very end has a translated segment of the Aunt's pregnancy journal.EDIT: Why tf are people using this thread to discuss another chapter entirely?
Yea it's just rough all around for both sides in this whole situation.@NateVG
To me it feels like a classic case of a parent who tries their hardest to give their kids a better upbringing than they had but doesn't realize that that better upbringing is still fucking terrible.
Like from Mutsu's POV she did a good job: she kept Mirai from being brainwashed into a womb-sama by not telling her shit and sending her to regular school, and she kept what's his face (glove guy) away from whatever awaited him in the side branch by sending him away from the family. In reality they both had awful childhoods.
I think a big factor here is that it sounds like Mutsu (and Nana and Yoshie) was home (cult) schooled so she probably has a pretty idyllic view of real school and the secular world in general.
There were many case with the youkai replacing the victim here, so overall it might not really be affecting the society much...?It's sorta wild how often people just die in this town.
More like she wishes that Mirai would hate her enough to leave and forget the family, I think? I'm juggling whether it was done solely for Mirai or for her to let the practice die. Mirai didn't receive proper education as potential Womb-sama, but Nana received proper priestess training including knowledge of the curse. Mutsu only considers Nana as her child as indicated in Chapter 15 in this page but she also immediately recognized that the spectre in Kaya came from MiraiBut if so she clearly communicated poorly with mirai....did she fear ANY proper mention of the true purpose of their family, and of a second born daughter, could make her at risk of being brainwashed?
Slop-writers, quick!!! Use the compensation ghost for a rom-com.

Not just boys, my mom collected way too damn much stuff. Music stuff (from small stuff like keychains up to a big piano that went under the Christmas tree that could play music off of little metal discs and so many figures they take up 3 shelves in a large display cabinet), cow stuff (I have a 55 gallon plastic tote full of cow plushies of various sizes, mostly small, also lots of Mary Moomoo figures), Christmas stuff in general (she really liked the ones from Hallmark that play music and those didn't come cheap), dolls and branded pens & pencils. That last one started mainly when she worked as a scheduler in doctor's offices and started collecting the branded ones that drug reps would drop off in droves back then. I have 4 pencil boxes full of the things so far and need to buy a couple more when back-to-school stuff goes on clearance this year for the rest. Much of the stuff isn't valuable enough to sell directly, not even worth the hassle of doing a yard sell. I've given a ton of it to Karm Stores (about 5 of their large storage carts full so far, nowhere near done) and I'm sure they're very happy to have it."Boys really do love collecting weird stuff!"
As someone who once had a collection of theatrical brochures, I can confirm. Unfortunately, at some point I simply forgot about them and lost most of them, although at that time they were more than 10-15 years old.
I picked up a dime yesterday and read this chapter today. Definitely made me feel a bit creeped out. Not much, but a little. So what this volume extra is saying is that I should not have picked up all those coins I found on the ground growing up.
