Is it yuri or is it not??
It's yuri. The main character self-identifies as Majeri in this chapter, so quite clearly her gender identity is a girl when transformed.

The question is rather, is it just yuri? And tbh, to me the main character has all the social signifiers of a trans girl, like an awkward and retreated presentation, being more confident when presenting femme and her general social presentation. There's even a strong trans allegorical part of the transformation here once she was discovered to be a girl a friend was transphobic at her (or the unwillingness to speak when transformed, or the hiding, etc).

So I would say yeah it's entirely yuri.

Thank you for the translation. Since there isn’t a romance tag I don’t think they are gonna end up together. But if they do I fully support it and I hope they add that romance tag

I don’t think that’s the case at all, but it’s an interesting interpretation

Seems more like idol worship to me. She gets to hang out with her oshi she's been obsessed with, which is more than any otaku could ask for. You could say it's kind of toxic how she ignores his guy form and wants him to transform all the time.

To be yuri or not to be yuri? But, why not both? And if it’s good, I’m taking it anyway. :02:

Please don't spread nonsense Propaganda on my straight relationship manga, we already have too much of that (and i had enough) :bleh:

Nobody cares what you don't like, especially if this is how you behave towards strangers. Tastemakers and influencers are typically pleasant towards other people, besides. You sometimes have to share a community with people who have opinions/likes/interests different than yours. Or even enjoy the same things as you in a way you might not approve of or with their own headcanons etc . I'm sorry if your family and teachers didn't do enough to expose you to that basic level of tolerance.

As to whether is is a straight relationship manga -- I think that's Complicated. Shion is clearly not straight (bi maybe?) given how raw her thirst to bathe with Majeli is. And while I definitely would not jump to any conclusions about Ayame's gender identity, you can't really seriously argue he doesn't interact with her as both genders. Not without literally ignoring the entirety of the last three chapters. I bet we'll see more of Ayame and Shion interacting in a straight context in future, but girl time bathing is probably first on the docket.

I have good news for you though. If you want a straight relationship manga, you are unbelievably spoiled for choice without ever to step foot in the Gender Bend district of Manga City. But if you do so, don't be surprised when you encounter people who subvert gender as a lifestyle. I'd suggest learning to get used to their presence because there's nothing else you can do about it. Otherwise it's like walking into a gay pool party with the intent of enjoying a swim and being horrified at seeing lots of men in tight speedos.
