This only affected 10 titles so the vast majority of users who do not engage with the forums would only learn about this via SNS. And this decision and initial reply is so stupid that people making their first post be about not liking this direction is not surprising at all.

Most of the userbase don't bother with manga commenting and checking the forums. This thread is making the rounds in various social media platforms, so an old user's first comment being here is very reasonable.

I can imagine a lot of people found this thread while trying to figure out why a manga in an open tab or in a bookmark suddenly started returning 404. I'm no stranger to suddenly finding out all of the chapters in English for some manga being nuked - but to have an entire page being wiped from existence (while it still appears as the first result on Google for that manga)...

Even if i never commented before - this kind of BS would make me go to the forum to ask "the fuck?".
