Heh... I kinda like that the response to her reveal is mostly positive, novel readers have been spoiling this like for the last 10 chapters and the usual response was "I don't care she still a TRAITORRRRRRR!!!"
Those kinds of people tend to be either be trolls or really self-entitled. The former can be tolerated because they just want to be annoying. The latter have such a narrowed view of the world that they consider any form of betrayal to be unjustified. Even if said betrayer has a gun pointed to their head.

Personally, I can accept the reason for her siding with 'hero'. It's one of those difficult choices. Which is heavier? The life of the person in front of you or the thousands of lives that could die if you save the former? There's no right answer there.

Would've been nice with a shout-out for why they couldn't just leverage the murder charge, which definitely would be an automatic execution in any medieval setting.

But implication that this was the only way to uncover the secret magic cartel behind a lot of other murders, drugs and much more is ok still I suppose.

Depending on the setting murdering a nobody can get you a slap on the wrist, maybe some jail time or a fine. Taking the loss to capture a drug cartel is not unheard even on RL.

Yep, chose the greater good and still took responsibility for what she did... buuuuut still did it alone and in a situation where she might as well be just farming for sympathy (i know is not like that but still, that is not enough to be meaningful), checked the first chapter and she was pretty happy with all the pushing and burning him, only after she showed some less excited face, well i guess that could be more on the side of not building good foreshadowing (since she also got less into the plan from there on)... but still, not enough.

Also by now i have this impression that they treat the whole thing as "they kicked me out of the party" and not "they tried to kill me"... still the girl is at least guilty of attempted murder, but since everyone is just walking happy without any noticeable damage to their person or rank. Is that because the crows thing or they just say "he is alive so no biggie".

I though she was just smarter than the other girl and a possible member but I did like the reveal, cops do commit and ignore crimes when uncover.
The hero's behavior makes a lot more sense if he's a junkie and not only a dealer, junkies are human trash lacking morals and willing to do anything for another shot.
If he gets high on his own supply, any halfway-competent criminal enterprise would have cut him off (and into pieces) already for being a MASSIVE liability.

Maybe that's the reason he got marked by the knights, small time dealers are small because they don't think logically so him consuming and making stupid decisions feels real.

knight order member gaslighting her backstabbing to get more angles.
she is weaseling the party out of an attempted murder charge.
i would like it more if this particular transgression wasnt dropped that quickly.
also, does the knight order want the drug supply for themselves?
