I do recommend you don't jump to where this chapter is in the LN, because we miss a lot of character moments. Like the one young male adventurer just getting absolutely soul crushed by the fact that the MC is being doted on by Yuritia, and her actions/reactions. Or her backstory. Or almost anything about Atri, our warrior woman. Sure her beliefs aren't unique, but it adds texture that her religion and tribe's laws exist how they are. The novel is pretty explicit about how Wolca's injuries twisted their emotions.

The problem is that he isn't buffing the sword, just his body for the instantaneous draw. That is the rub, just his body. He needs a magically conducive material to handle the enhancement, or something strong enough that it can without slowing him down. The main issue then isn't can he not enhance his leg like his sword/body, but he can't enhance normal wood.

So it is a bit of a false dichotomy.
