Eh, I'm usually fine with these kind of stories because the MC is usually at least a good-ish person, but from the little we can see bro ruined someones life, didn't do anything to rectify it ( Like going public about the article, people would have paid attention to him as he was at the very least the journalist in charge or someone who worked for the magazine ) and just continued with his own. Unless the author adds something else to his backstory he doesn't deserve a love interest at all, not even a yandere.

There's no way he could have done that in a place like Japan, hed have been sued into being homeless and then basically shunned from society.
