Noone really knows what the crinkling is supposed to be. Maybe radio noise, maybe the tape is fake damaged. Animal noises do have a purpose, as the ghibberishy lyrics make the statement that dogs and cats need like a year to understand our commands, yet we never understand what they want to convey.
