Tsukimori moonlighting (sorta) as a gravure idol? Would explain why she looked exhausted previous chapter.

I guess we have a new set of characters to add to the rotation. There's no way they go to the trouble of naming Kobukayama, and giving him that detailed of a character portrait for an introduction, for Suzuka to not become a recurring character. Plus, y'know, the whole "hospital" thing.

Akira's still set on showing affection to her Aniki whenever no one else is around, so that's at least one thing. Though his continued reticence to either reject her fully or go all-in is a touch grating--likely all the more so because of all of the other female cast members who seemingly want a piece of him, for whatever reason. Really kinda pulls this in too many directions to be truly effective, because why include both a harem and a dedicated step-sibling romance angle and then have the ML just waffle and play the diplomat whilst simultaneously lead every single person on?

I hope this volume returns to the deal between the Scout and Akira's dad, though. That was way too dramatic a cliffhanger at the end of volume 7 to suddenly start introducing entire new sets of characters and kick off another arc for Tsukimori (presumably) while leaving all those other threads loose and unattended.
It'd be nice to get some actual closure on things sooner or later, before getting more pots on the stove top.

But, thanks for the TL.

I haven't properly read this since chapter 23, so around a year ago, I know about the whole actress arc thing, but for a good chunk of the chapter it felt like it was another Manga entirely and it doesn't feel like the events are organic to the themes of this story, it seems somewhat erratic, why bother with the other girls? Why couldn't it be just a winter pool chapter between the two of them?

Once again, I ask, if you make a romcom story, whose title is basically "me and X character" why do you pretend that other girls have a fair chance in this race? Why do you [author] not have enough meat for the story that need to add them?
Not to mention the already discussed aspect of the creepy talent agent and what it says about the acting industry (and how the author seems an enabler for it)

I think it started well, but I see I will have to wait 1-2 more years for this one before reading it again, what a bummer, thanks for the translations so far KDT.

Because the title isn't "MC x imouto," it's "I thought I got a little brother, but it was actually a little sister," the only relationship that's implied is siblings. Besides, it isn't uncommon for the side-heroines to seem like they're in the lead or for the main heroine to seem like she's out of the running, only for the main heroine to win in the end.
