Yeah, you guys translate series like furoufushi shojo (which wasn't inactive, it's just constantly on hiatus) and Hontou wa Watashi ga Ii ndesho? (which sparked another conflict with eresh scans), when the previous group tries to contact back you just block them and pretend you're doing everyone a favor with these AI translations
You morons can't even read hiragana. Anyone who thinks this is a translation is just as illiterate as these MTL scumbags. Fuck off and take your garbage with you, if I wanted to read AI, I'd just hold my phone up against my screen.

I have no idea what's considered acceptable behavior in the translator community. I'm assuming there's some semblances of informal rules that are established to prevent wild wild west behavior. Beyond that, it seems these scans are AI which is lazy but fuck it, let's go with the premise that this is unavoidable. I contest there should be some form of transparency allotted to the readers so they are aware of that fact, especially if donations and the like are made available for the translator group by the readers. And finally, why someone pirates is not in essence universal and therefore does not mean the readers and translator groups shouldn't have their own standards. Like for me, I read pirated Manga because a lot of this you can't buy, at least in my language, but when I can, I buy it. I also purchase the Japanese volumes as an ebook, in the hopes, the author gets something.

We need a sitewide MTL filter toggle at this point. MD staff need to give us alternatives since tthey're against banning MTL altogether.

At the end of the day there's only two reasons a group would be mad about sniping, either they egotistically want the most meaningless views or they're making money off stolen content.
If you as a reader don't like the quality than don't read it. If the first group has their head so far up their ass they can't handle someone else translating the manga they're working on than I'd suggest to them to stop being so obsessed with a view count.
If readers flock to the shitty but faster translation, why do you as a TL group care? Those readers obviously don't appreciate what you're doing in the first place, it's not worth being this mad over.

I don't really care about what's considered koscher among vietnamese basket weaving comics translators, but can you, if you're going to MTL, at the very least use any amount of brain power to reconstruct context, please.
Like, at the very least explain it to your LLM, or consider yourself that a character who is a man who didn't get called a bitch can't say "calling me a bitch was going too far".
Forget about scanlator etiquette and anti-MTL sentiment, at the very least make something you could show to your mom and say "i did this, it shows that i am capable of doing something well".

And ask yourself why would it be "discouraging" to other translators if the sniped version is objectively inferior with such poor shitty AI translations that people can't help themselves but make multiple posts about how it offended their senses and fucked their wives/husbands? If an "inferior" product ends up superseding the higher quality product it means the consumer didn't actually care about the quality that much to begin with. It's basic economics my dude, which is just exemplified MORE when you take away the idea of cost since you're getting pure unadulterated consumption based purely on want and not necessity. If the other translators get butt hurt because they can't fleece the entire consumer base for this product then tough titties. If you want to encourage them to keep translating them rally the troops and prove it by engaging with THEIR translations more than the shitty sniped ones you hate so much.
Why would anyone need to ask permission to scan and upload something? Does a competitor have to ask permission from an already established business if they are allowed to set up shop near them? Do you think Wal-Mart asks for permission from the brick & mortar Mom & Pop stores when they set up shop and absolutely demolish them with their inferior service/products simply because people aren't willing to accept that most people don't give a fuck and just want whatever is easier/cheapest?

I can actually agree with this since I also don't particularly care for MTL or otherwise AI translation chapters. I just find it infinitely hilarious that people get so butt hurt about it that they end up contributing to the very thing they are railing against by biting the obvious bait hook, line, and sinker. Honestly if you had told me this was purely just to troll people I would have to call the uploader a genius cause they are rustling jimmies to a degree I haven't seen in a while.
I also love the people talking about integrity on a pirated manga aggregator site. Honor Among Thieves and all that.
