Between the sudden shifts in the situation (one moment they're prisoners, the next they're eating around a table, and the next they're back to being tied up and interrogated by Allen) ; Amy and the prince showing no reaction to the fact that Anastasia is alive and here ; the prince confirming all his misdeeds without even trying to deny what he did? It looks like the author either forgot some pages or, on the contrary, went on a speedrun to finish this arc.

Also, if Amy can manipulate the guards’ minds, why not just make them release them and take them to safety? Did she really think she could completely turn the situation around by charming Allen?

IMHO this is the weakest part of the story including in the source material. There's plot contrivances everywhere so it's really a case of shrugging your shoulders and accepting the weak excuses to get to the desired story results.
