Fingers crossed next Sunday Agawa actually tries to have an honest conversation with him WITHOUT putting him down again or giving him ED 2: Electric Boogaloo.

It would be funny if they ended up having sex again and I'm probably hoping for too much for the two of them to work on patching things up but we'll see.

Honestly dude i belive that everything bad you just mentioned is going to happen, minus the ED2 (Well maybe happens but not permanently). Even if things go relatively "good", there is always a random new bulshit that can shake the status quo.

I think that in general all of the heroines don´t have the full picture when it comes to Gotou´s mental state, Shigemi is the one that is closest, but in general, I fell, they are acting with what they asume Gotou will like, or what they belive Gotou is thinking or what they fell is best for him. Agawa in particular doesn´t have the clearest picture of how Gotou is doing, thanks to the distance that they both created between themseves. I can see Agawa both doing something insensible or doing something "good", but because she doesn´t know how to deal with current Gotou, well, her attempt at mending things with him backfires.

In fact i would argue that the pre summer heroines (Agawa, Shina and Akito) are currently doing things that will backfire. Agawa and her "lesbian relationship" with Erika is an example but even in this chapter, I belive that Akito spreading her legs and Shina speaking with Kiyomi will back fire.

With Akito for example, i feel that Gotou is starting to associate his self worth with sex, and that in particular he is starting to belive that the only reason why the girls like him is because of sex, and considering that it is when his penis is working again that Agawa, Shina and Akito are suddenly really worried about him after days in the case of Akito and Shina, and Weeks in the case of Agawa of not even a hello even though they are suposed to be friends, one of the main reasons that I belive this is because, when Akito apologizes to Gotou for leaving him for her friends, Gotou says that she shuldn´t worry about it but instead of saying something like, he is glad that she made up with her friends, he says that because of her leaving him his penis now works, the worst part about this is that Akito hears this and is surpriced but decides to fuck him anyways.
And honestly it is implied that the three maybe were planing to help him, but it generally happens either behind his back or doesn´t happen at all for x reason, so at the end of the day Gotou never notices their efforts.

With Shina it doesn´t take a genious to imagine how will it backfire, regardless of how Kiyomi will react to this mess, the fact that we now know that Kiyomi wants to marry gotou as a last ditch effort to not be childless and single is significant, and honestly if Kiyomi or Shina tell this to Gotou i can see him breaking, and again that is ignoring whatever shenanigans Kiyomi will try as a response to this mess. But i fell that shina getting involved in this maybe complicated things, maybe it would have been better for Gotou to reject her outright kinda like Shigemi wanted, also because Shina did this if anything goes wrong she kinda has to deal with the consecuences.

So as for the talk between Agawa and Gotou i can see a lot of things happening but one of my theories is that Gotou will reject Agawa´s posible advances, why?, 2 reasons, first, when Shigemi finds Gotou on the rooftop and gets him hard Gotou immediately goes flacid again after, the reason? remembering Agawa, Akito and Shina apologizing, in the next chapters, particularly the one before Gotou finds Agawa and Erika making out, Gotou mentions that Shigemi´s mean reactions are "Honest" and thats why he gets hard, i belive it has been implied that Gotou is convinced that Agawa doesn´t like him and because of how his mindbreak works, this extends to all of the girls, and because of that, every attempt at trying to convince him otherwise Gotou will register it as a lie, in particular will just be "the girls being kind to me" and considering that in the intervention Gotou mentions that there was no way that he would be popular with girls, Shina and Akito say try to convince him that it isn´t true, but Gotou Answers saying that , they are just too kind, kinda confirms it. To add salt to injury, Gotou caught Agawa making out with Erika and saying that she likes girls better, and if, say Agawa says that it wasn´t true, as i said Gotou will register it as Agawa being kind to him.
The second reason is more my own gut but it has its merrits, ever since the retcon something i called the "Agawa Karmic Cycle" happens tldr: Every time Agawa does something shitty to Gotou, eventualy Gotou will do the same thing to Agawa with the caveat that Gotou will never do it with malice and, most of the time Agawa isn´t a deciding factor also Agawa will take this responce really badly, and since Agawa rejected Gotou´s advances in their last sex attempt, I belive that the AKC will happen again, and honestly there is something that i have noticed, i the summer arc, Inukai is forced to realise all the damage that he did to Gotou, because Gotou escentialy does something similar to him, i belive that Agawa needs that moment of, "Oh so thats how I made him feel".

Another alternative, is that maybe Agawa will be a little confrontational about Gotou not helping the library commitie, but she will try and tone herself down and try to have a heart to heart with Gotou, but while she is trying to do that Erika appears, considering that she hasnt been at Agawa´s side for a while, Erika will try to talk, but Gotou will get the wrong idea and think that Agawa wants him to quit so she and Erika can be together.

But honesty knowing this manga, this author and this characters maybe i am seeing thing were they aren´t, lets wait and see what will the former FeMC and former best girl of this manga will do, lmao also sorry for the long response.

I don't agree with the implication that Agawa has done shitty things to Gotou out of malice. Sure, Agawa called Gotou's fuckboy attitude cringe, but this was just her being honest about the fact that, unlike Inukai, Gotou isn't handsome enough to pull it off. Her being honest and stopping sex midway due to discomfort doesn't make her a jerk (consent is important and can be withdrawn at any time). Gotou developed ED, not because Agawa was mean to him, but because who he became (the cocky fuckboy) was not someone Agawa was interested in.

In fact, she realizes how much weight her words had on Gotou and immediately offers a sincere apology to him. To quote Agawa: "Sorry. This is my fault. All of this happened because of the things I said. Forget it. All of it. You don't have to force yourself anymore. Sorry for saying all that stuff." (Ch.75)

Another strange criticism I've also seen is that Agawa's not being honest about her interest in Gotou. Gotou hasn't done anything to earn that level of trust from Agawa, so why would she tell him something as vulnerable and intimate as her true feelings? Also, I don't think Agawa completely understands what she wants right now, because she's trying to reconcile 1. her principle of just having sex friends without getting serious about anyone (which is why she's not comfortable with Erika claiming that they're "lovey-dovey") and 2. her increasing dissatisfaction with casual sex (which is why she recently stopped sleeping with guys). As Agawa is still figuring things out, she's not ready to share her innermost thoughts yet, especially not with someone as pathetic and unreliable as Gotou.

That being said, Agawa far from perfect and Gotou isn't completely hopeless. I sympathize with Gotou losing himself to lust (with this much temptation, can you blame the guy lol), and I hope Agawa eventually figures out that casual sex isn't the solution to her deep-seated sadness. Thankfully, as this Kiyomi arc comes to an end, Takeda Super finally seems ready to explore the next stage of Gotou and Agawa's relationship, and I'm really looking foward to it.

If the mangaka intends to extend this past chapter 200, he'll for sure make the MC find out and "take revenge" by fucking the assistant in a scorned impulse. I don't see how this will end in a good way after this chapter.

So first off, maybe "shitty" was a strong word, I don´t think agawa is evil but the reason why i used those words is because of the 2 examples that I used when I formulated that theory is the Akito arc and the summer arc they kinda start develop and end almost the same way, the reason why I say shitty is because in a way how the summer and Akito arcs begin (ch. 33 & 53) with Agawa diching Gotou to fuck another dude, and while Gotou is suliking a girl (Shina or Akito) apears behind him to kickstart the arc. The thing with this chapters is that it feels like Agawa is punishing Gotou for fucking Shina and Akito, you know, the thing she told him it was fine and in fact pressured him to do, but when say Gotou fucks Akito and Agawa becomes aware of it she acts jealous. To try and make a long story short Agawa acts hot and cold with Gotou constantly, and that is why Gotou develops ED, because of Agawa contantly mix singnaling him to the point of breaking him.

When it comes to the Inukai and stop sex midway part of your argument I agree %100 with you brother, but I will add my own theory, I just think that Agawa has never liked cocky fuckboys like Inukai, but made them sex friends because there was no way she would fall in love with any one of them, however something changed, but I will adress it later.
Another strange criticism I've also seen is that Agawa's not being honest about her interest in Gotou. Gotou hasn't done anything to earn that level of trust from Agawa, so why would she tell him something as vulnerable and intimate as her true feelings? As Agawa is still figuring things out, she's not ready to share her innermost thoughts yet, especially not with someone as pathetic and unreliable as Gotou.
What I and many people argue is that Agawa isn´t honest with herself, it is painfully obvious that she likes Gotou probably since maybe the Inukai arc (volume 2 i think), and many characters realize this, however Agawa always dodges the question anytime someone asks, and honestly, Gotou is the guy she likes, Gotou confesed many times and they were normal friends for a while and in fact, probably Gotou was Agawa´s only true male friend in a while, so yeah there was a time were Agawa should have just reciprocated Gotou´s feelings, however now, after the summer arc, I don´t thing she should do that, and maybe that is what Takeda wants out of this arc, an Agawa that now can admit her feelings but with a Gotou that can´t reciprocate them.

Also Gotou being pathetic and unreliable, bro honestly the entire cast of this manga is pathetic and unreliable people, not gona lie lmao, but in all seriousness dude the Gotou hate is off the charts.
I do agree with the Agawa doesn´t understant what she wants right now, but the reason why is because she isn´t being honest with herself, as for the point of "her principle of just having sex friends without getting serious about anyone" i agree that she has that, but the example you gave is wrong, in that chapter Agawa in general starts to dismiss Erika the moment Shigemi mentions that she has intentions to have Gotou to herself, as for your second point I will cover it in the next segment.
This apology is well, kinda underwelming, honestly she might as well have said im sorry for everything that I did wrong, to put it simply what is she apologising for?, in specific, could it be the fuck other girls buisness?, maybe leave him for other dudes? who knows, she never names it and she leaves it at that, it is easy to see why Gotou took it the wrong way. But that is not all, i judge Agawa based on what happens before and after the apology, before the apology, as I said Agawa gave mixed signals to Gotou constantly, so, again it is easy to see why Gotou took it the wrong way, it could be labled into the category of Agawa doing shit on a whym, what she did after, which is either a) try and remove herself from Gotou´s life or b) to wait for Gotou to come to her, were a bad move, Gotou neded answers but Agawa gave him none, and she never made an attempt to contact him, going back to previous points, when Agawa comes back from summer break she hates that Gotou treats her the same way she treated him previoulsy and she almost looks betrayed when she realices he is fucking Shina and Akito, when she did the exact same thing to him, the caveat is that Gotou isn´t doing it to get back at her.

So why didn´t Agawa explained herself, simple, Agawa wanted Gotou to make love to her, that is why sex felt off with everyone, but as I said Agawa isn´t being honest with herself, she has good reasons mind you, but she is mostly to blame for how the plot has developed.

Agawa has never been exclusive to Gotou, which is why she left Gotou at library to go sleep with Yuki (Ch.33). She generally likes to treat her sex friends fairly, and prioritizes those who have already set up a day and time to sleep with her. She isn't punishing Gotou, and is just acting normally (as she usually does, even before she and Gotou met).

Ch.53 is one of the most pivotal moments of the story, as Agawa had a lot of faith in Gotou abstaining from sex to study (inspired by his words, she even abstains from sleeping with a sex friend during this time to focus on her own studies). When Gotou fails all his exams and admits that he neglected his studies to jerk off, Agawa lost faith in Gotou's trustworthiness. Even though Agawa was touched by Gotou's passion for her, she realizes that maybe Gotou isn't a man of his word and that perhaps his love for her is ultimately shallow (which explains why Gotou lapsed and slept with Akito). So, she decided to keep her status quo of having casual sex friends, instead of keeping hope that Gotou might be someone Agawa could trust and maybe go out with.

When she leaves Gotou to go with a new sex friend, she's not punishing Gotou because they aren't exclusive at this point (and have never been exclusive). She left him because she realizes that sex may have a negative effect on Gotou's academic life, and so she decided that perhaps some distance between them would be good for him and his studies. Also, Gotou felt extremely guilty in this chapter because he knows that he went back on his word about focusing on his studies, and has let Agawa down. Gotou's clearly aware that he doesn't deserve to sleep with Agawa at this point, so all he can do is watch Agawa walk away.

I agree with you that Agawa is interested in Gotou, but just because she's interested in him doesn't mean she owes Gotou a confession. Agawa isn't sure about acting on her romantic feelings, and throughout the entire story, Takeda Super hints that she's been traumatized by romance and strongly prefers to keep things casual. Her dodging the qustion of whether she likes Gotou or not is one of the main obstacles of this story, and this obstacle is what makes Agawa such a compelling character. I disagree with you that there was a time in the past that "Agawa should have just reciprocated Gotou´s feelings" because, from the beginning of the story until now, Agawa has never been the type of character to reciprocate romantic feelings for anyone. This is one of her main character flaws, and a huge part of this story is seeing how Agawa overcomes (or fails to overcome) her fear of intimacy. This story would not be nearly as interesting if Agawa started out as a straightforward gal who fearlessly acts on her love without reservation (though perhaps readers like you would prefer her to be this way).

I mentioned that Gotou is pathetic and unreliable because he is, and it feels like readers such as yourself see Agawa as a bitch and give Gotou a free pass whenever Gotou makes a mistake. I disagree that the entire cast is pathetic and unreliable. Shiina is extremely competent and hasn't wavered in her desire to indulge in casual sex. Shigemi is very sweet and tries her best to understand Gotou and his problems. Akito has consistently expressed and stayed true to her love for Gotou.

Finally, I actually really like Gotou as a character, despite his many flaws. Gotou is kind and thoughtful, which is why he constantly worries and overthinks things. One interesting thing about him is that despite constantly changing his mind, he actually exudes sincerity in the moment. (ex. when he had sex with Shigemi in the shower, she understood and accepted that Gotou's worried about the marriage issue and truly wants love, even though he's really stupid about it.) I just want to clarify that Gotou hasn't matured enough to be capable of a commited romantic relationship, and that this is a deep point of insecurity and confusion for him (hence why Shiina calls him "an idiot" when she confronts Kiyomi in Ch.103. Like Shigemi, Shiina understands that Gotou wants love but easily wavers to lust).

I agree with you that Agawa isn't honest with herself. That being said, Agawa being honest with herself doesn't mean that she'd feel comfortable in expressing her romantic interest to Gotou. Again, both Agawa and Gotou know that Gotou has already failed to balance sex and academics (Ch.53). Then, after summer, Agawa sees Gotou happily sleeping with Akito and Shiina. I think it's fine if you want to criticize Agawa for not "being honest", but Agawa being honest to herself and confessing to Gotou are two seperate matters, and it's not fair to criticize Agawa for not confessing to Gotou as she's currently struggling to accept her own feelings.

Agawa apologized to Gotou, not because she was shitty to him, but because she realizes that Gotou has been struggling to change himself out of love for her and Agawa feels bad about unintentionally leading him on. She partakes in casual sex and doesn't take it too seriously, but she realized that Gotou is using casual sex to try to catch her romantic interest. Agawa never meant for Gotou to take things the wrong way, so she apologized for his misunderstanding of her and essentially rejects his love (again). Afterwards, Agawa doesn't want Gotou to get the wrong idea again, so naturally she'd distance herself from him (and Gotou likely did the same because he lost confidence in being able to romance her).

when Agawa comes back from summer break she hates that Gotou treats her the same way she treated him previoulsy and she almost looks betrayed when she realices he is fucking Shina and Akito, when she did the exact same thing to him, the caveat is that Gotou isn´t doing it to get back at her.

So why didn´t Agawa explained herself, simple, Agawa wanted Gotou to make love to her, that is why sex felt off with everyone, but as I said Agawa isn´t being honest with herself, she has good reasons mind you, but she is mostly to blame for how the plot has developed.
Agawa doesn't like that Gotou is treating her like just another sex friend, but she never blames him for it because she understands that being casual sex friends means that romance is prohibited. She feels hurt, but doesn't accuse Gotou of being "unfaithful" because she knows that Gotou doesn't owe her his sexual loyalty. Again, they currently aren't dating and aren't exclusive, so neither Gotou nor Agawa owes anything to one other.

I think you're too quick to blame Agawa for a lot of her actions as "being shitty" to Gotou. In reality, it's just two people misunderstanding themselves and each other, which causes a lot of unintentional pain and confusion. If this manga were titled "Deep down, Agawa wants love but is too afraid of being vulnerable, so she denies herself and rejects love" instead, there might be less confusion about her character and the themes of this story lol.

Gotou's clearly aware that he doesn't deserve to sleep with Agawa at this point, so all he can do is watch Agawa walk away.
You seem to forget bot the the context of the chapters:

In chapter 33 Agawa tell Gotou that she will never fuck him again if he pull of the same stunt that he did with Inukai, essentialy trying to stop her, even though in the Inukai arc Agawa seems to want Gotou to take her away, there is also Gotou´s reasoning for doing a threesome, Gotou dosn´t do it for lust, at first, he is doing a compromise of what Agawa wants (fuck her sisiter) and what he fells is right (fucking Agawa). In fact Agawa´s friends warn him not to make Agawa sad, and because of that he want to get close with Shina, he asumes, well that is her sister, so she should know about her sadness. Gotou doesn't have any context about Agawa´s trauma with her sister so he doesn´t know he is making a mistake, and I agree that he wasn´t owed that context, they were friends but not THAT intimate.

53 is even simpler, the whole arc, even though Agawa already made clear that she and Gotou are just sex friends, she begin to act jealous when Akito is introduced, this culminates in the studing part of the arc, where Gotou wanted to study seriously, and Akito tagged along, but Agawa got jealous, she began to send spicy pics to Gotou, then interrupted the study sesion by flirting with Gotou, also the sole reaons why with Akito went to Gotou´s house was because of Agawas provocation, so Gotou was at wits end because of Agawas constant flirting and she teased Akito to have sex with Gotou, the whole sex and Gotou failing debacle is mostly on her, does that mean that Gotou and Akito get a pass? Hell no, they have personal responsability, but again this entire situation rests mostly on Agawas shoulders.
There is also 1 more thing with Gotou in the Akito arc, at first he rejects Akito, but when she begins to cry he fumbles, it is established that Gotou has a protective instict with Akito.

I agree that Agawa was worried about Gotou´s academic performance, but that wasn´t all there was to it, she was also punishing him for fucking Akito, Agawa, at first wanted to apologize to Akito for teasing her, she never did, also she apolgized to Gotou, but Gotou said that she shoud´t that it was actually his fault, and Agawa says that yeah everything is his fault, what Agawa did in this part of the arc is shitty to me, she tempted Gotou constantly, she teased Akito to fuck him and when she actually did, even tought she knows she is in the wrong, she never apologizes to her, and when Gotou puts the blame on himself she takes this oportunity to wipe her hands clean of the situation, and for me, the reason why she did that is because she is mad at Gotou for fucking other girls, as you say they aren´t exclusive, but it is clear that both suffer when the other fools aroud with other people, my point in the OG comment was that in general Agawa takes it worse than Gotou, and even though I used the word shitty to describe this chapter 53 situation, as i said in my response I agree shitty was a strong word and is wrong, may it would be more correct to say the times were Agawa ends up hurting Gotou (whenever she intends to or not) and Gotou somehow manages to pay her back with the same coin with out being revenge.

Your main point was that you never understood why paople said that Agawa isn´t being honest by not confesing to Gotou, what I tried to say is that what we criticize is that Agawa isn´t honest with herself, the whole confession part is a thing that you kind asumed, however me saying that Agawa should have confessed is well more a comment on the character than a comment on the writing i do understand what tipe of character Agawa is and what her traumas are and and also that this is what the main conflict of the story is and i like it.

Also I don´t belive that Agawa is a bitch, she is a really good character with ups and downs, as for the reason why many other see Agawa as just a bitch, well for like a year or so we mostly seen downs from Agawa, it has been a while since she has shown her possitive side and/or traits so the general opinion on her has souered, I, don´t share this opinion.

My opinion on the cast being pathetic and unreliable is because of say Akito being a constant simp to Gotou even though is clear that she lost, or Shina that traumatised Agawa and maybe many others because daddy is an asshole and that means all men are trash, they are still good caracters if anything my opinion is the same that you have with Gotou.
I am sorry because i didn´t make myself clear i don´t belive she was shitty by doing this. I agree with this take. however I don´t know if that is the reason for Agawa´s actions after that incident but honestly I don´t have a solid theory.

Again I mostly agree but again, even if they are just sex friend it is clear that they hust each other by having sex with other people and I also think this point of yours adds to the tragedy of both characters.

Also "Deep down, Agawa wants love but is too afraid of being vulnerable, so she denies herself and rejects love" bro i feel I have seen this title somewere lmao.
