I have a theory that’s really-really stupid and definitely not going to happend, could Director Han actually be Sanghyun's brother? It sound stupid, but she is older than Sanghyun and know him, it’s possible that Director Han is her real form, while Sanghyun's brother is the past incarnation.

Gongwon taking the fall on MC's fuckup is a very admirable action from Gongwon's side, risking his locked in boy-idol career to cover for MC is a great indicator on his true character. And it looks like he's going to get the blame on this one cliffhanger too. Him not budging on any info on Yoil on it's own was already enough, but admitting all the responsibilities lies on him and him only is a great sacrifice by him to the guy he looks up to. goes to show how much he respects and looks up to MC, even after knowing his whole secret.

I can see that as a possibility, she having inserted herself into MC's life all the sudden is a bit suspect. but for me personally, I just write off the whole GB magic and all the things associated with it as the one fantastical plot device in the series in order to facilitate MC's turnaround and drum up conflicts/story beats. totally fine with it not being mentioned at all, but I am interested in where author takes this in the next season.

That's a good point. It kind of recontextualize the scene of her pushing Yoil to dressing more feminine if she also under the effects of past life potion. She could be speaking from experience.

Or it could just the fact she looked was differently than she did before. Do you remember everyone you met when you were young? Especially if they met once.

I think having her change from female to female would be interesting since it's different from Yoil's situation. It could be totally different angle to explore it with.

I've been thinking that as well, she acts like a parent to him. There's definitely more too it.

I think she might have some ties to the idol group.

Or at least I think she has some sort of relationship to his brother.

As others here, I feel bad for poor Gongwon. They were testing him big time, and he passed, but he doesn't know he passed and now is scared shitless for both Sanghyun and himself.

In any case, their conversation (even if fake) lampshades something I've commented on before: they 100% need to create a detailed fake background for Han Yoil, because those are good questions that will come up more often as Yoil's fame increases. The background needs to be solid enough to withstand a K-pop fandom armed with modern technology, and should ideally include Kim Sanghyun's connection to her.
