Net chapter soon, fingers crossed nothing happens between Ryuuji and Luna, though even if nothing happens there, it's still annoying that the MC has had a kiss forced on him.

Damn the summary guy isn't here yet
Dammit this one looks juicy come soon summery guy!!!
Hi, "summery guy" here.
Short spoiler: No new Luna secret, Ryuuji and Mimi's relationship revealed, return of Luna's "Don't mess with Naoto" glare.
We start the chapter with Mimi kissing Naoto with a little tongue action. Mimi then undo some buttons enough to expose her bra, and she starts working on loosening Naoto's belt. Just as Mimi starts to unbutton his pants, Naoto finally moves to stop Mimi in her tracks.

At that very moment, Luna comes barging in and sees the event unfold, just as Mimi planned. Before Naoto can fully explain himself, Mimi takes over the narrative. Mimi starts going on about how they wanted to have some quick action behind Ryuuji and Luna's back, that despite Naoto was saying no at first he didn't seemed to hate it, insinuating that Naoto was not opposed to the whole event. Naoto is starting to worry that Luna would believe Mimi's story, and was contemplating on explaining that he only wanted to learn about Luna's past part time job from Mimi, but couldn't say it out loud in front of Luna. Seeing Naoto couldn't explain himself, Mimi grins, and smugly apologizes to Luna for taking away Naoto.

Luna, who was silent up to this point, answers back saying that Naoto wouldn't do the type of things Mimi had said. This surprised Naoto and Mimi, and Mimi answers back by saying Naoto's a guy too who would act on his desires at times. Luna proudly proclaims that Naoto won't because he lives together with her and nothing of the sort happened to her.

With Luna's proud proclamation, the tension got completely blown out of the way. Mimi voices her doubts, but Luna answers by mentioning that if Naoto was truly a horndog like Mimi mentioned, then Luna would definitely get pounced on by him. But none of that happened even when Naoto saw Luna with nothing but her underwear. Naoto hits Luna's statement with a mental tsukkomi, but Ryuuji barges in and is in disbelief that his Aniki didn't react at all despite seeing Luna in just her underwear, which rewards Ryuuji with an actual tsukkomi.

Mimi regardless refuses to acknowledge this and continues with her claims, and asks Ryuuji to side with her. Ryuuji however gently bonks Mimi on her head, telling her to stop. Ryuuji says that he'd known Mimi for so long that he knows when Mimi is telling a lie. Ryuuji then starts scolding Mimi for making his Aniki look like a bad person, and asks Mimi what she actually wants.

Mimi is on the verge of tears, and finally snaps back saying that it is all "big brother Ryuuji's fault". Revealing to Naoto that Ryuuji and Mimi are siblings, while Luna knew about it from asking Ryuuji earlier. The two siblings bicker for some time, and Ryuuji apologizes to Naoto and Luna for his sister's actions. Ryuuji explains that Mimi would sometimes do these sort of things from time to time just so that Ryuuji would pay attention to her. Ryuuji then mentions that Mimi went too far this time, and tells her to apologize as well.

Mimi however bursts out of the room, saying she won't apologize. Naoto asks Ryuuji if it's fine to not go after Mimi, but Ryuuji tells him that when Mimi's like that, there's nothing that he could say that would stop her. Luna however goes after Mimi, as she's worried. Ryuuji mentions that even Luna is worried for his sister, and tells Naoto who also got left behind that they should prepare to leave and pay for the karaoke. Naoto instead stops Ryuuji, and asks him if it's actually fine for things to end up the way it did.

We then cut to Luna, who is searching for Mimi on the streets. Luna finds her immediately as she didn't go too far and asks her to come return to the karaoke place with her. Mimi asks Luna why she went after her, was it because there's something Luna wanted to ask her. Luna then asks Mimi why she went after Naoto, and Mimi answers because Naoto is Luna's "younger brother", and because Luna took away Mimi's "older brother", aka Ryuuji, she decided to take away Luna's "younger brother", aka Naoto.

Mimi then starts talking about her family, how they only had a father in their household who was always busy with work. Despite it, she wasn't lonely because Ryuuji was there for her, but everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked Ryuuji started his part time job. Ryuuji's conversation is all about Luna, and shows her pictures of him at the place they worked at, which appears to be in the food service industry as hinted by their uniform, and after a while Ryuuji stops coming back home entirely.

With Ryuuji being taken away from Mimi, she ended up alone and depressed. When she saw Naoto at the university, and found out that he was something like a younger brother to Luna, she wanted Luna to feel the same loneliness that she felt from having her important person taken from her, but her plan completely failed, returning us to the present.

Luna gave a simple reaction, and Mimi asks why Luna's not angry at her. Luna then tells her that she's angry at her for trying to hurt Naoto, and she won't forgive her for that. However she empathizes with Mimi's loneliness. Luna tells her that she knows how noisy the silence of an empty house actually is, and how vast and dark a small room feels.

Chapter ends as Luna completely empathizes with Mimi's loneliness, and Mimi asks Luna why she knows how loneliness feels.

Tbh, just another bait from the Author, like all the other things that's been kept vague up to this point. Could be a red herring, could be not, most likely a red herring.

Just because someone didn't overtly said no, that doesn't mean they covertly said yes.

Look at where the narrative is going at the end, "If it's not essential, leave it out of the narrative.", that's writing 101.

Also remember that whenever an event happens to involve Naoto, Luna's top priority IS Naoto, almost nothing else is important.

As shinya said I do think it's bait, if Luna and Ryuji had a sexual relationship then I feel like being alone with him would have lead to something, instead Luna went off to find Naoto.

I'm relieved that this situation is over but it's annoying how Naoto keeps getting into these situations, I just want the bait stuff to stop and for Naoto and Luna to move forward.

Chances of him being either the guy from when they were kids, or the person from the apartment "kiss" is basically zero.

With Ryuuji calling Naoto Aniki, it's basically confirmed that Naoto is older than him (possibly a year or two), and, as far I'm aware, the term is basically never used towards a younger person. So he would be even younger than when Naoto saw Luna kissing that guy at the shrine.

As for the apartment "kiss", that gets completely tossed out when they meet at the hot springs and it's shown that they haven't seen each other since Luna quit the job that they worked at together.

I agree for the first guy, but with completely different reasons.
  • If that guy was Ryuuji, then that would mean Luna would've worked part time at their hometown, where even the young Naoto could easily visit the store they work at if it's in the countryside. - Just countryside things.
  • Ryuuji found out the rumours about Luna at their part time job, but he wasn't able to ask Luna out. - Chapter 14, at the onsen with Naoto
  • Back when Luna's at their hometown and kissed the guy from when they were kids, she hasn't dyed her hair yet. - Chapter 4, flashback
Basically, the timeline isn't timelining.

With Ryuuji calling Naoto Aniki, it's basically confirmed that Naoto is older than him (possibly a year or two), and, as far I'm aware, the term is basically never used towards a younger person. So he would be even younger than when Naoto saw Luna kissing that guy at the shrine.
That is not necessarily the case. Ryuuji calling Naoto "aniki" in this case is more hierarchical than anything, it's more of a title really. It has the same nuance as calling your superior as the "older sibling". Remember how Naoto absolutely schooled Ryuuji back at chapter 14, actual age is not a factor in this dynamic.

Besides, Mimi is attending the same university as Naoto, she would be at the very least the same age as Naoto, who is a first year himself.

There's a few things that you need to keep in mind with this though.

Naoto is a late starter at university, so he would be older than Mimi by default as long as she is starting her first year after graduating from high school. This could place her age range in 18/19, while Naoto is 20 (possibly 21 now? not sure on the time frame any more).

With that in mind, the siblings may not actually have that large of an age gap between them. This could possibly place Ryuuji in the age range of 19/20 himself. I do doubt that even if this isn't the case, he's likely still younger than Luna from the way she was talking about him as they left the hot springs.

Maybe this is a bit of mental gymnastics, but who knows.

So... Problem solved? 😅

(I'd say no, after all the author messed up the story too much in the last chapter and now he's backtracked, but it didn't help at all, the damage is already done. ¯\(ツ)/¯)

Typical skill issues. 😂

That's the problem isn't it? Our only reference at the moment is Naoto being confirmed 19 at the very start, who turned 20 shortly soon after (and currently still is), before Hiba is even properly introduced. School year in Japan starts April, which also happens to be Naoto's birth month.

Luna started coming to the countryside around middleschool, so she'd be 13 at the earliest. For simplicity, let's assume she's 14, right in the middle. She's spent a few years before she stopped showing up 10 years prior the current time. Assuming she stopped showing up at the latter part of her highschool years, around the time gyaru-fication stereotypically begins in "certain works", Luna would be around 17~18. Add the 10 years blank, then she would then be around 27 at the current time.

Mimi would be 19 at the current year, assuming she's also in her first year, and got in right after high school.

Ryuuji has been shown drinking beer, so he's at least 20.

The question now is, what's the gap?

Because the age gap between Ryuuji and Mimi is an unknown factor, we can only assume pre-gyaruo flashback!Ryuuji , who appears to be around highschool at the flashback because of his outfit, to be around 3 years older than flashback!Mimi assuming she's in middleschol in the same flashback. However, Ryuuji being built like a Jojo Part 3 character does not help with the accuracy of the age estimates.

That would still land Ryuuji older than Naoto, but younger than Luna by about 3 or so years.

Here's the thing, I don't think Luna was actually kissing anyone, I'm convinced that she was just kissing a mirror or something, she literally was rubbing herself to Naoto.

If Ryuji and Luna really had some sort of intimate relationship then the sexual tension would have imploded the moment they were alone in that karaoke booth.

I just wish Luna would confess to Naoto already, it's so frustrating but since nothing happened between Ryuji and Luna when they got left alone and Luna stopped Mimi's nonsense I am feeling more hopeful.

At the very least, I don't see Luna getting intimate with another guy in the present besides Naoto, anything could happen in flashbacks but even then I'm starting to think it's not going to be anything too crazy.

That being said if somehow, an NTR scene between Luna and Ryuji or Luna and another male does occur, I probably would drop the series, unlike Grapara I wouldn't be able to laugh at the nonsense of it, but reading the tags for this series and seeing how devoted Luna is to Naoto, I don't think that will happen.

This is another part of the problem.

From my perspective, it seems like she was only present in the countryside while she was in middle school, spending roughly 3 summers there, and it was when she started high school when she stopped going to their home town. The change in her appearance could have happened at the start of high school as a way of lashing out, or seeking attention from her mother (as we know they have a bad relationship), if there isn't "another reason" for the hair colour. So for the time being, I'm assuming her age to be around 24/25.

Mimi would be 19 at the current year, assuming she's also in her first year, and got in right after high school.

That would still land Ryuuji older than Naoto, but younger than Luna by about 3 or so years.
It's pretty unlikely that we're going to actually get any information relevant to their ages, and it's pretty difficult to estimate the age gap between the siblings (because manga). For the time being, I'm still going to be assuming that Naoto and Ryuuji are roughly the same age +- a year or so.

The other problem is that we don't know how long ago it was that they were working together, as it's entirely possible this was a post high school job for Luna, and a part time job for Ryuuji when he was a student.

On a side note with the siblings. The two of them give off Okinawan vibes (seems intentional) which could be why their appearances come off as stereotypes that don't seem to fit their actual personalities.

As for some other stuff regarding this chapter.

At the end of the chapter, we seem to have gotten some more insight into Lunas past with the remark about how the silence is deafening in an empty apartment.

This may be pointing to the possibility that the apartment is actually the same one that she use to live in with her mother and for some unknown reason, her mother is no longer living there with her. Or it's entirely possible that she's been living there by herself after possibly attending high school in Tokyo and her mother had her move out of their home.

There's also some other things that are seemingly becoming more and more prevalent at this point as well.

When Hiba and Luna were talking before about Naoto and Luna only being able to give him "Luna-nee" and not "Luna", we started to see that there are some deeper problems going on with Luna.

It's entirely possible that "Luna-nee" is actually a "performance" that Luna puts on to hide deeper issues that she is facing. With how she reacts some times with Naoto, it seems that she might have some deep abandonment issues, possibly trauma from neglect, and likely also is suffering from depression and she is afraid to show Naoto the "real Luna" because she thinks he will hate her.

The state of her apartment is one of the things that leads me to believe that she is dealing with some pretty bad depression as well. Along with the fact that Hiba regularly checks in on her at home to the point of having her name written on her stuff. While I'd like to think otherwise, it may have been bad enough that Luna has made an "attempt" before.

I'm starting to think some of her "secrets" will turn out to be less "erotic" and more traumatic.

Well we know there was someone in the house with her because she has a conversation with an unknown person in the house but that person later on tries to come in-between her and naoto so she tells them off and so far has cut contact.

See, I'm not convinced that's what was actually going on, as in, I don't know, I don't think this unknown person actually exists.
