Don't be so hard on the kid. He was just overexcited seeing his crush express so much for the first time.Seeing thing from Anastasius perspective a bit more really helps his character. The point he drives home about how his actions as a member of Royalty always have implications whether he cares for it or not are a bit more understandable.
The disconnect though is still very present in how he treats others he doesn't have any strong interest in like with how he casually mentions Rosemyne fainting like he's a bystander to the ordeal rather than as someone directly involved. Even Eglantine was able to pick up on it to an extent, and had to get him to write an apology to Rosemyne.
that’s not necessarily a good thing. Even Anastasius was worried about making it seem like myne Had his favorIf things play out as planned, it’s probably a win for everyone except for a minor loss on Prince Sigiswald
- Ehrenfest gets a closer tie to the royal family, like it or not

Anastasius will never again leave such a good impression on the readers, lol.
Its a shame that after what Rozemyne did for both of them and even after Eglantine called her in a true friend. They stabbed her in the back.
On the other side at least these action ended up with Anastatius as Zent consort and not the brain dead one.
Sigiswald does not deserve Eglantine anywayPrince Sigiswald only missed a perfect queen for his reign
