I appreciate that they gave dragons the boss-level fight treatment it deserves. There's too many stories that instantly defeat them which betrays what a dragon used to represent in stories: a powerful obstacle/catastrophe that is close to impossible to defeat if not outright omnipotent. I also liked that they utilized tactics and wit rather than believing in the power of friendship, nor that they got bailed out by reinforcements (at least on the first dragon, 99% chance reinforcements come on the 2nd.)
