That's right, get fucked. At least the adventurers have some survival instinct left, can't say the same for the guild master, that guy is finished he just doesn't fully know it yet

Pffftttt... that's karma for you, guild master. I hope the author drops even more karma on him later :aquadrink:

The funniest part is that the source of their worries isn't even gonna be around for weeks

Don't tell me he's the only one who gathers herbs. Insane that the supply will go down just because he decided it to.
I mean, I think it is the herbs from around the dragon's floor.

So he's the only one who can get his hands on them in that town.
^ The herbs are on the backside of a mountain behind lava flows and flying mobs that normal adventures find difficult to deal with.

Well the merchant Lass is... something else isn't she? i like her and her greed. love her face expressions.
now she is MAD because of the guildmaster did make him leave.. even better!
I'm just surprised she didnt suggest setting up a meeting with the city lord or local governor. Sure the guild master has the power of his office, but once the nobility is involved, his options become much more limited, if not removed entirely.

The guild master seems at least somewhat capable in this chapter, but his prejudice against spirit mages is really clouding his judgment. If he knows what a normal forest spirit can do, sees what Yuuta's spirit can do, and still doesn't grasp how monstrously powerful Yuuta is... Well, his guild is in tatters, so I'm guessing headquarters isn't going to entertain further retaliation against Yuuta and he'll take the fall instead.

I guess Yuuta is just going to spend time with his disciples, chilling in the land of the dead. Maybe build more stuff in his base?

Though really it is a strange reaction. They are basically hearing that the guild leader has been wronging someone so powerful knowingly, ordering people to take part in that. And now that leader when exposed for what he has done, is talking about having the victim murdered, and they are just we are out instead of directing anger at the leader personally? Calling for him to be removed or face justice? They are packing up and leaving their lives behind instead?
That seems strange to me, that they are just walking away and letting him keep going, vs demanding he take responsibility for his actions.
The guild master is not actually accountable to adventurers, he is only accountable to the headquarters (adventurers don't elect him, HQ selects him to manage adventurers and keep raking in the profits). We've seen what he does with his authority; Yuuta might be well protected, but other adventurers really can't directly take action against the guild master without potentially risking retaliation from him. They can only hope that the guild sorts its issues out with Yuuta and ensures that Yuuta does not take any actions against them. Besides, walking away is a strong form of protest (there's a reason corporations don't like strikes, unions, etc. and want to ban them).

I mean she's gonna make her dad influence add the other guilds against the adventure's guild... it's a better move so they don't own the nobles any favors.

Hard to gauge really, that guy is the one who defended the kids, and has already seen his power. He was already one that was on the fence. Its unclear how wide spread that will be.

If he's willing to try murdering someone more powerful than anyone in the guild, it only stands to reason he'd do the same to them in a heartbeat if they openly worked against him. The easiest way to both dodge a bullet and give him grief is just to abandon him. Especially since if they were to stick around, it would eventually come to light that they too were involved in this scheme.

It's not prejudice, his judgement in this chapter is correct when it comes to how regular spirit mages work. It was established early in this series that there is no one in that world who has a contract with a great spirit, nevermind several. Mid level ones, like the fire one are the heights of power any spirit mage has ever known. It's no wonder he can;t concieve of one summoning vines that break steel.

Think the angle I'm coming from assumes the adventurers guild is a quasi-govermental agency. I don't remember anything about the guilds being internationally independent or somesuch, so figured the guild would have deeper connections to the government then other settings.

But dealing with nobles does come with a certain ammount of issues of their own. Just in this case, i like the idea of hitting all the levers in reach. The response would be different if Yuta didn't have 4 or 5 powerful spirits who each could be classified as nation ending threats.

The charm of this manga is that it subverts my expectations by making the main char going full twitter “i got google docs“ mode on people instead of going at the problem like normal, going super over the top on revenge while staying light hearted enough that it isnt edgy.
Pretty bad writing on the surface but honestly very entertaining in a weird way.

Well that was satisfying. Tho, I get the feeling the guild master’s high rank adventure pawns that he laid the honey trap with are going to be way more pissed and dangerous… to the GM that is, leader seems happy to usurp others

Also there goes 90% of the towns gathering capability

yeah, how is he gonna explain all these to get support from the Adv Guild HQ? on one hand, we have a guy who is strong enough to constantly supply the Merchant Guild with high-rarity top-quality materials. on the other hand, we have a petty branch-guildmaster who harasses the strong guy resulting in the guild not getting those materials.

if i was the guy in charge of the Adv Guild HQ, it's crystal clear which option will be profitable for my guild in the long run
