I'm just surprised she didnt suggest setting up a meeting with the city lord or local governor. Sure the guild master has the power of his office, but once the nobility is involved, his options become much more limited, if not removed entirely.
The guild master seems at least somewhat capable in this chapter, but his prejudice against spirit mages is really clouding his judgment. If he knows what a normal forest spirit can do, sees what Yuuta's spirit can do, and still doesn't grasp how monstrously powerful Yuuta is... Well, his guild is in tatters, so I'm guessing headquarters isn't going to entertain further retaliation against Yuuta and he'll take the fall instead.

The guild master is not actually accountable to adventurers, he is only accountable to the headquarters (adventurers don't elect him, HQ selects him to manage adventurers and keep raking in the profits). We've seen what he does with his authority; Yuuta might be well protected, but other adventurers really can't directly take action against the guild master without potentially risking retaliation from him. They can only hope that the guild sorts its issues out with Yuuta and ensures that Yuuta does not take any actions against them. Besides, walking away is a strong form of protest (there's a reason corporations don't like strikes, unions, etc. and want to ban them).

If he's willing to try murdering someone more powerful than anyone in the guild, it only stands to reason he'd do the same to them in a heartbeat if they openly worked against him. The easiest way to both dodge a bullet and give him grief is just to abandon him. Especially since if they were to stick around, it would eventually come to light that they too were involved in this scheme.
It's not prejudice, his judgement in this chapter is correct when it comes to how regular spirit mages work. It was established early in this series that there is no one in that world who has a contract with a great spirit, nevermind several. Mid level ones, like the fire one are the heights of power any spirit mage has ever known. It's no wonder he can;t concieve of one summoning vines that break steel.
