So the only thing that keeps her secure is him never reaching new heights. Should end well
No again. It's about getting her to get over her complex. Whatever it was that happened in the past that scarred her face also broke her. A lot of what's happened in the series has been about getting her to realize that in spite of the injury she's still a nice, likeable person even if she's a bit clingy and co-dependent now and trying to fix some of her tendency to spiral and self-sabotage out of fear/shame/anxiety and just be happy again. A lot of his choices and behavior through the series has been about trying to coax her into opening up more, being more honest, and recognizing that a) he loves her, b) other people like her, c) that she can fix the broken relationships she has with some of her classmates and friends/family, and d) she deserves to be happy and live her life
Of course it's all served with a side of this
whole cast being nuts or weird in some way or another, ranging from "lol quriky" to "probably needs a full psychological evaluation". but that's mostly done for comedy's sake whereas her issues are the series' real core drama.
