i do not believe it was her own subconsciousness. the mark reminds me of

more than likely the demon lord was trying to corrupt her by influencing her mind in such a way, hence why it went away after Takeru burned the shadow thing with Prometheus

that said though we need to know more about the island and figure out who's alive and who isn't on said island

Just a while ago I do some reread up to the previous arc (tha guild lesson mini arc) and it's such a great experience with the world building and Takeru's growth as a person
