Was him stepping on it the entire boss fight? It's not as if he put extra force into it and he still weighs the same as a normal person.

He has way more mana than this evolved dungeon boss, so it's like he has way more mass, he was an unstoppable force and the thing tried to tackle him.
If we simplify things in game terms he probably has such massive amount of mana that his base stats are like absurdly high, like let say 999 attack for example, so chances are that anything that could cause any damage will automatically do absurd damage to monsters and be a instant win

Honestly? I think the real question that pretty much all series avoid is how it be if it was a human, like, if he accidentally stepped on a person foot will it be disintegrated? Will they take 9999 damage and die on the spot?

Makes me wonder if there's some kind of system protecting people from such accidents so that people only get hurt if mc actually wishes for it

Like, think about it, if that wasn't the case mc would basically be like the Hulk or Superman and always need to hold back or accidentally destroy everything around him

He consciously chose to stop trying to avoid squishing bugs, I think that's when he activated his mana body attack, like he used against the ghosts before. He's swatting away the shadows and stepping on the bugs more firmly, deliberately. I don't think he has that kind of "hostile intent" when he bumps into people.

Edit: Plus, it looks like the fodder bugs were scared off when he decided to squish anything that gets in his way, they clear a space around him, leaving only that boss bug.

At this point you might as well assume that every monster near him gets auto-debuffed into a total non-issue.

Fuck you're right, somehow I forgot that detail while writing

It makes sense cause if they could unconsciously use their power the people around them would be fucked :V

I imagine whatever system is behind the dungeons leaves only passive stuff always enabled, like for example having high defense making you more resistant to attack so it's harder for you to get hurt even out of dungeon

System being like that also explain why he doesn't realize he's so powerful as there's no way for him to accidentally use whatever powers he got, after all as far as he knows he's only killing pests so he won't accidentally blow a mountain or whatever and realize he's way stronger cause he's not trying to use so much power

It also explains why government help fool him he's a regular human is a viable at all, if he can't accidentally use too much power they're able to keep the charade by just bullshiting him all the way, as long as he doesn't willfully try to use more power he just won't realize he's way beyond normal humans

I kinda like how the system is pretty subtle instead of going usual status screen slop, makes me wonder if we'll get mores details on it since so far the only thing we got is from Kuro evolving

And you're right about the bugs too which kinda makes me wonder why mob bugs ran away while the boss still tried attacking, maybe because he didn't see the boss so there was no hostile intent against it? After all he didn't even notice it

The insects weren’t too big except the boss, so he's gonna stay oblivious about his strengh
They were also probably all poisonous that’s why his girl fell unconscious and only woke up after he took down the boss and made them all disappear

Is this even supposed to be funny? He just stepped on a big bug without even noticing, it immediately vanished and he barely reacts, but then gets a bit flustered when his passed out friend wakes up in his arms.

Like I get the basic setup of a joke (OP main character accidentally kills off the big bad boss without even trying), but fuck me, the mangaka’s execution is truly horrendous. I just don’t understand how this appeals as a comedy or any kind of wish fulfillment, considering he mostly fights weeds, bugs and hazy black smudges the artist can’t be bothered to draw.

She passed out because the air was too thick with mana, it wasn't enough to phase the MC though, just had him think of home.

Meh, once again the monsters don't look that threatening...

I understand that the mangaka want to protect the MC misunderstanding but it feel quite ridiculous to hear all the time those supposed elite monster killers ranting about how an insect around the size of a small dog or cat is an end of civilisation level creature that only a full and well prepared elite team can bring down...

I'm way to used to see massive or way more dangerous looking monsters in most media to see them as something with a very high threat level...
