I actually think author was not bullied.
Those kinds of things are usually written by people spoiled by their nice environment that were reading stories about bullied people and then imagining how easy it would be to stop being oppressed.

Why do people think that it's weird for MC to "instantly become an ikemen when he cut his hair"? If he was an ikemen before he would be after, the thing is, when you're mentaly abused you stop taking care of yourself to the point that your appareance worsen a lot. So even someone who look good would naturaly en up looking like shit.
As for the self insert, 90% of the manga here are self insert, the majority of manga with 9+ rating are also self insert...

It's super weird to see people act like this when there is a rare manga talking about a boy getting abused by his girlfriend and trying to get over it.

I agree with mc's action of ignoring her for a while. But I really wanted to kill that girl after she started being a nuisance to his life. Author probably got bored and decided to end things with mc being nice, but I tell you, things wouldn't end with just a broken leg if it were to happen to me in real life.

Let's just imagine for a second he is older by 1 year. Basically meaning at every point in her life, there was at least one year where they weren't together. (Elementary school, junior high, high school)
Him being dominated by a girl for 10 years? Hardly believable, especially when they were younger, children are very elitist (age) especially during the younger phases where difference in one year is huge.

Next biggest disappointment is conversation about love. "I think she liked/loved you" <- Nope, she wasn't what MC said in chapter 29 was correct. She didn't love him, she loved herself and liked having a secret trophy boyfriend. When she noticed that he was charming (i think other girls noticed this first) she decided to make his good features disappear.
In any case her actions were akin to sociopath's/psychopaths/narcissists, these people are not capable of feeling empathy or love. They can be possessive but love isn't something reachable for them.

100% agree. It was really disappointing to head Yukishiro say she sometimes feels like the only person he should talk to is her. The normalization of jealously is extremely unhealthy. Jealousy isn't love -- it's ownership.

Some authors especially Japanese have a problem with making everything too virtuous. Like good characters cannot speak badly, judge, kill or hurt. They even allow bad people who have done bad things go unpunished, because surely now they changed their ways....Basically defying basic common sense of our world.

just hit ch 30 and we👏love👏healthy👏communication👏! This is definitely a bit of a fast-track recovery from abuse, but it’s a masterclass for folks who need to know what healthy relationships actually look like. I spent far too long with a girl just like Hanabi, but thanks to my now-fiancé, my friends, family, and LOTS of therapy, I was able to heal from that abuse. It’s an ongoing process, but GET YOSELF A PARTNER LIKE YUKISHIRO.

Chapter 31. Got to say I am not enjoying this attempt at redemption. Hanabi's character has served its purpose. I don't need to see her attempts at self-improvement. It is one of the things I don't like about Manga, that the creator can just go off on a tangent for a bit. It is all well and good if you are binging, but when you have waited a month for a chapter, and for it to drop the main story and start taking in the background, I find it frustrating.
