I thought they were trying to write in old/middle English for flavor and just sucked at it.TL was indeed a Clown. Or a really bad AI.
Two nice examples of what passed as translation in this chapter (not a comprehensive list, but these were egregious):
"Even for a "child" who is had only just begun their path as a sorcerer are able to one-sidedly trample on experienced warriors"
"You could fight from both a long and short distance they can control your own magic power consumption rate and their effects by how much magic power you apply on the blade itself and you can always still fight with your sword should you run out of magic power I guess?" (No punctuation, except for the very end, so I'll treat this as one sentence)
If I encounter something like this in an in-game chat I am the guy to answer "Bro, please read over what you wrote again before posting", but in this instance someone has to have read this again before posting and actively decided that it was good.
The ones Elhao quoted are dialogue of Faestes (Merlin ahh vice prez wizard) and Fissel. That being said, I do think the loli commander old-English kinda a bit forced, though not like I know how that language is spoken back then actually.I thought they were trying to write in old/middle English for flavor and just sucked at it.
More like, Old man vs (very and actual) Old manold man vs old man.
do it.
to be fair, she was already doing swings beforehand, so she's def able to swing teh sword herself, it's moreso when she has to hold it above her head while Beryl adjusts her positioning that she's properly shown wobbling while holding it (page 23), the one pose on the previous page where she's holding it down with blurry lines is more showing her concentration than weakness based on context. She also holds the sword causally throughout after the fact. This, of all manga, shouldn't have gone for the "swords are heavy" trope. Looking at that sword, it wouldn't have been more than a kilogram. Which is not heavy for someone her age, unless she has muscle dystrophy. Sure, it would start feeling heavy if they had went with the thousand swings idea, but they didn't.
