Quality of this manga rapidly started plummeting ever since this arc started

I'll be honest. I'm just kind of skimming and waiting until this is over. It just feels relatively boring to me, this arc. I'm sure that to some new reader of manga, this might be the most tense and intense thing in their personal experience of reading manga for less than a year at their tender age of 15 or something.
But to me, this isn't really something I signed up for, feels like an extended side-quest of primarily frustration, and if the end result is that this arc could've been wiped and nothing of importance is loss on the overall general story. Then it will just feel like an extended waste of time until we can get back to the main story.

I get everyone's feeling and no this is not a counter! Seriously I understand this arcs importance since it involved the PAST we've been teased about! But all it does is drag on that I'm sure even the JAP fans getting this SOONER are annoyed with how long it is! Many Chapters feel like they were EXPANDED for no reason just to drag and milk! And from Spoilers I've seen, the Villain is disappointing! I expected him to be one of the researchers seeking REVENGE on MC for "betraying the kingdom for the Monster Girls" and was going the long way in accomplishing it! (I mean it would make more sense then "I like to see Despair" garbage the spoilers seem to claim he is) I mean picture it if you will! MC feeling he failed the girls, assured them each a better life and went elsewhere (his job) the girls find out in their own way and enroll, hoping to reunite with him, but it upsets his PTSD which they didn't know about cause "he was SO SURE" they'd have forgotten about him! Frankly it would have been a GREAT chance to take shots at the "Dense Moron" Trope these "bland Protagonists" have (More after I'm done with this first rant LOL) but the writer missed that chance to "play it straight" which just HURT the story instead of improving! I mean the Villain had been following him and subverted SOME of the girls (instead of JUST dragon girl since this looks like the END as I can't really see anything after this arc concludes) he gave homes, brainwashing them into a weird love/resentment thinking he abandoned them, but at the same time they think it was understandable to make them ANTAGONISTIC towards the Main Girls hence them getting in the way and condemning them for "just not getting" their HURTING the MC by their presence! He want's to be left alone! Leave him alone. Thing is that would be the WORST outcome as his issues are never solved and THIS would be the Assholes end goal. To LITERALLY give him what he want, despair and solitude where he realizes too late he only made his conditions WORSE! (Especially if he COMPLETES the research MC thought he destroyed! To find the girls fell into a WORSE FATE and it's cause like the Coward he CONVINCED himself he was, he could have prevented it but ran away as it became second nature to him! Well I can see the revenge being to make him fall so DEEP into despair, he suffers a FATE worse then death! MUCH better then "I feed on Despair!" As then you can see the Villain as an Antagonist of MC past wanting HIM and his girls to suffer for what personally happened to him and his collegues in the past when MC did his thing)
(Now to what I mentioned Before, This Comments is over by the way, so if you still hear, you seem to be a weirdo who loves my rants for some reason LOL) I get the Trope, sometimes when they focus on it, it's meant to show the MC KNOWS his Harem wants him to pick one of them, but he's "took kind" to do that and hurt them all, specifically the "losers" so to "I want EVERYONE TO BE HAPPY" he chooses to NOT make a choice and keep it to himself, getting ANXIOUS when they DO push the Issue! Some satire like to MOCK this by having the girls COMPLETELY lose interest in him since it's OBVIOUS COWARDICE, disguised as "not wanting to hurt them" but instead wastes their time and causes THEM Anxiety! Essentially hurting THEM when he foolishly thinks he isn't! I mean how many Harems started with the FIRST FUCKING GIRL securing her man, only for the harem crap to start and now he "can't choose" when the choice was obvious! THE FIRST GIRL HE WAS ALREADY WITH ALREADY! (Which makes you wonder why he didn't break up with her and makes the PLAYBOY accusations usually thrown at him TRUE, he may not look "tanned dude bro" to fit the PHYSICAL stereotype, but DAMN does he fit the DESCRIPTION of a Playboy playing with girls hearts uncaring about anything BUT his own needs, he LOVES the ego boost of girls fighting over him, so is deserving of them all moving on and falling out of love with him, especially the one who DID love him, those girls are usually the OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE types, so having them and TRYING TO PLAY EVERYONE AGAINST EACH OTHER! At Least "School Days" PUNISHED the MC for this behavior! Say what you will about it, those dark endings and the Anime were a PERFECT example of HOW the Harem Protagonist Trope will end BADLY for a Male Protagonist if they DIDN'T have their "lack of Horny" we're use to with them! Hell that series ALSO has a equally out of nowhere HAPPY end where he GETS both girls and they're willing to share him! Reminds me of the "Harem" choice of The Witcher 3 except the OPPOSITE effect if you DON'T pick one of the two love interests of Geralt and try to get them both, they LITERALLY blue ball and fall out of love with him! The writers were like "you know what you did, this is realistic since BOTH girls make it clear through their characterization in the books AND games that it's "them, or NOTHING!")
There's a youtube video I saw way back that mocked this shit! The Dense Moron FINALLY chose and blew it, first girl already moved on and thought he was gay since his cowardice looked more like he was too nervous to tell her the truth, and even then his wasting her time made her move on! Second choice was PISSED since first choice told her about his "confession" so it looks like he went SUPER Coward and ran to his backup, SLIGHTING her and making her cut contact! And the Third and Fourth! Yeah in their pursuit of him they fell in love with EACH OTHER! Frankly speaking in his fear of losing "that companionship" when it was CLEAR they wanted him to choose, he got NOTHING and went back to being a "lone loser" like before! As though the Uploader was saying he should have made his choice SOONER then later when he was AROUND the girls as the first choice dated others DURING the summer separation so if he had NOT told her to wait, she would have been HIS, instead of her realizing she was an idiot for even WASTING her time on an indecisive clown who assumed the world would stop just cause HE didn't move yet)

Chapter 35: Washio’s Soliloquy
Washio and Alice are working as general servants at an inn. They are speaking with the inn’s manager/owner:
Washio: Manager, the beds are made.
Alice: All the rooms have been cleaned as well, Manager.
Manager: Thank you, Washio-kun, Alice-chan.
Washio: Do you think we'll have any customers today?
Manager: This is the old highway—there aren’t many people passing through, so I doubt anyone will come.
After finishing more chores, Washio speaks to the manager again:
Manager: Maybe it’s because you’re young, but you sure are a hard worker, Washio-kun.
Washio: I wouldn’t say I’m young.
Washio: Being an inn employee just feels right for me.
Manager: Suits you, huh? Weren’t you a teacher at a famous magic academy before? Isn’t this slow-paced life boring for you?
Washio: Oh no, I actually find this peaceful pace is perfect for me.
Washio: Being a teacher at the academy was seriously tough—super demanding, and carrying the weight of the students' futures was exhausting.
Washio: Which is why I’m truly grateful to be working and living here. Thank you.
Manager: Is that so? Well, I’m getting old myself, so having a young one around really helps.
Washio: Like I said, I’m not young.
Manager: Alright then, I’ll leave the front desk to you. I’ll be in the kitchen.
Alice turns to Washio and starts talking:
Alice: You’re regretting leaving the academy… aren’t you?
Washio: …… …… I don’t.
Alice: Based on your eye movement and sweating level, I conclude that’s a lie.
Washio: Yeah… I regret it.
Washio: I just wish I’d quit sooner.
Washio: My background report was half truth, half nonsense, but the truth didn’t really matter. At the moment suspicion fell on me, I ended up causing trouble for them. Because of me, they went through all kinds of unnecessary trouble and hardship.
Washio: That’s why I’m staying out of their lives. I want them to find happiness… in a world completely separate from mine.
Washio: Well… that’s how it is. To begin with, teaching just didn’t suit my personality. And now I’m free from the responsibility of shaping students’ futures. Honestly, that’s a huge relief.
Washio: Yeah… saying ‘I had to save them’ was probably going too far. Even if it was to make them hate me… the fact is, I hurt them. Really… I went too far.
Alice: So… you won’t have anything to do with the monster girls anymore?
Washio: Yeah. I won’t. It’s what’s best for them.
Alice: Understood. I’m only 64% convinced… but I understand.
Later, as Alice watches Washio sleep, he mumbles in his sleep:
Washio: …I’m sorry.
Alice: I will stay with you… to the very end.
It’s another day. Washio is sweeping the front of the inn when he hears something—it's Claudia, running toward him.
Washio: After cleaning the front of the shop, see the guest off, then make the beds. Alright! Time to work hard again today!
Washio: What is that sound…?
Claudia jumps on him, knocking him down. She gets on top of him and starts lightly punching him in the chest.
Claudia: Stupid teacher!!! You big dummy!!! Old man!!! Stupid, stupid, stupid!!!
Washio: Claudia!!! What are you doing here…?!
Claudia: I followed your scent, Sensei!!! I was surprised how close you actually were!
Washio: No, I just ran out of money. Waaah… how pathetic.
Claudia starts crying, and her tears fall onto Washio's face.
Claudia: Why did you lie like that? It really hurt me, you know…
Washio: …I’m sorry.
Claudia punches Washio in the face as she says:
Claudia: No way!! I won’t forgive you!

I'm hoping that this interaction is the catalyst for Washio getting his shit together, since it seems like even he doesn't believe the BS he's trying to use to justify forcibly removing himself from the monster girls' lives.

See this? This here is exactly what I have been saying about Washio!
He's the only one that sees the Monster Girls for themselves as individuals instead of just being a different species, he spent a few years teaching them and shows he cares for them more than anyone else, yet he managed to convince himself he is the least qualified person to be their teacher and that him being gone is what would cause them to be happy!
And look at that, everyone is unhappy, even the elf teacher that actually held Washio in higher regards than Washio himself did! Seriously, Washio deserves all punches in the face until he understands that punishing himself won't make others happy!
