It's a family heirloom and a thing that couldn't be replaced with money due to its nature. As far as the assassin guild intel goes, it's not the first time they've double crossed someone, they just pissed off the wrong fellow.

She's thorough, too. Got the guy with a crossbow bolt, but also made sure to get him with the dagger as well. That's a good policy, especially since she cannot depend on strength alone. She has to be sure that he doesn't somehow come back for her if he's not completely dead.

I mean The Guy she can explain because he wasn’t supposed to be anywhere near her when he died/disappeared. But this girl was her contact so it’s gonna look really freaking suspicious if she doesn’t come back.
