When trying to move a discussion into a productive direction it's imo best not to argue about whether it should be productive, but to pro-actively just go ahead and provide something productive to debate. The moment you do people will move on and discuss it.

So what's the proposed "common solution"?
Yeah i second this actually because trying to brush this whole thing under the rug has gotten them nowhere.

I'm sorry but thats because mods keep ignoring us instead of doing whats right and restoring the manga which is: noraneko shoujo to no kurashikata, because removing this isn't going to fix anything and has only angered the users and yeah MeccaFlare is right rewriting rule 3.1.1 would be a good first step in fixing this problem because fictional characters being sexualized in not even in the same ball park as a actual child being csem'd.

And dealing with your rogue mod (which hopefully your doing)
Noted (things like this can't be decided in a single forum thread, but I'll pass it to the team for consideration), thx!

I tmight look that way where you're sitting, but that's exactly why we handle staff issues internally rather than in the thread.
Just because you don't see the "other side" of the moderation process happening in public doesn't mean it isn't happening.
Since rign now we're just repeating the same points now and the conversation is turning into a loop, I'm going to leave it at that. We've certainly got plenty of feedback to work with already...
True, we reached a point we repeat the same conversations, no accountability or transparency all excuses and blaming others.

I will leave to a site that respects its users and dosn’t remove works without notice, i suggest other people do the same.

Since you said that you are taking things said into consideration, allow me to offer at least one more bite: please, in the future, let us know before you begin a purge. I know that it is difficult to coordinate, but silently deleting manga and hoping we don't notice is absolutely the worst way to handle this kind of thing. If you want us to trust and support you, please communicate with us, and don't try to sweep things under the rug.

Failing that, at the very least, don't delete the metadata so that those of us who have reached our limit can safely and easily compile our lists so that we can take our things and leave without a fuss.
Fair point, and honestly, a pretty reasonable request.
Silently removing stuff never feels great for anyone following it (be it chapters or entire entries).
As (I think) I mentioned earlier (not sure anymore, since my brain's already fried due to replying to pretty much every single post in here), we're currently considering ways to restore data partially so as to help users manage their own lists.
On the other hand, communication is certainly something we can (and need to) work on, so thanks for the constructive "last bite".

You're forgetting something, EtherealNeko called us a paedophile over fictional manga characters because we dared to speak up about the unfair removal of a manga, WE have every right to be angry when a fucking tourist mod starts shitting on a manga and moralfags about it in a thread. Umm hello this is a pirate site? FUCK YO UK LAW!
mangadex is a scanlation hub...

personally i believe they have the right to remove any manga title they want, especially when it threatens them legally.

i don't see why removing loli pron is so bad, especially since there are sote dedicated to that. As far as i know, they title metadata isn't deleted, so maybe they are working on something.

I think it's this
mods > admins > devs (since they develop the site)
namicomi and md have the same people behind it, and the developers don't seem to have much power in decision making.

honestly the wording is so vauge in all their official statements it's hard to know

he literally can't, he doesn't even have access to the metadata of the deleted titles
He can't shut up?

It is clear what he is doing

-minimizing what his friend did, while exaggerating other people's anger.

-trying to make things more complicated than they are, to confuse outsiders making them feel like people are angry at nothing.

-using the good guy image trying to minimize damage.

so they can sweep it under the rug after everything calms down.

CLASSIC PR TACTICS.

How many scanlators get permission from publishers to create and upload their media? Not even near half I'd bet.

It's not just Lolishota stuff that would be understandable what started it was before Neko changed their post they said it was anything containing anything sexual where the manga did not say they were 18+ this would include things like Shuffle,DxD,Beserk,Freezeing and when confronted about it Neko went straight to insulting the community until they changed their statement and I personally haven't seen them since

Popular reads will never be on the chopping block because they are too profitable. That said anyone who supports censorship doesn't deserve nuance and I wish they would apply their rule fairly so everyone who doesn't move after this gets burned by it as well.

It anything highschool or under 18 related that contains any sexual stuff. That is a fucking good chunk of manga. Dragonball has young bulma flashing her pantyless self towards roshi that would fall under the same policy. You also got nude kid goku.

There will always be a risk staying here. Even if they reverse the decision, can you trust that it won’t happen again?
