Even if he wanted to, I think they just proved it impossible in this chapter. Their cryostasis tech has only been tested for relative short "decade" long spans. I think he's planning to sleep for as long as he can with enough waking cycles to assess the current status and make corrections to the overall plan, then go back to sleep. If that's the case, then what a shitty end for him. At best, he'll spend a few decades asleep while they find a cure for his condition, waking up to see the people he knew age rapidly while he remains stuck in his current age.
At worst? He sleeps for a long, long time, waking up to find out everyone he knew has died, replaced by new faces he'll barely have any time to get acquainted with, let alone grow close to.

Since the MC will become an icecube most of the time I guess now the black haired girl will take over the story as another main character? Since she's someone from space as well with a past and knowledge we don't know yet seeing her get mentioned again makes it feel that way. There's a lot of shi going on at the same time to just pull time skips over and over, it would ruin the series if they go that route ngl

Honestly don't know how the mangaka will handle this. Suddenly a preggo wife with little to none romance or much emotional attachment from MC's part (more like an obligation for the new empire other than something natural), then space cancer that can't be cured for the next decades which will make him disappear from the story from time to time, bug invasion and then the spy girl that is mentioned again after so long. A lot of stuff to start an arc that feels somewhat overwhelming
