How do you know the other translator was better? Because chapter 55 of Kusunoki had this translator being better than the other one.

Pretty much, as I said in the other thread, we already know that Kusunoki and Keisuke will end up together, that's not the interesting part, it will be nice to see but the real interesting bits is how Kusunoki will address her feelings for Keisuke and handle telling Moe her feelings.

Then there's Hebikawa, her planning and her worldview, which is going to shatter eventually when it becomes clear that Kusunoki doesn't have a dark side or Kusnoki's "dark side" is not what she expected, it will be a hollow victory with Kusunoki only getting upset since she considers Hebi a friend and then comes Keisuke's anger towards Hebi.

I just think this who sniping thing is an interesting discussion. In the heyday of the Big 3 several groups were translating for example the latest chapter of Naruto (think in some cases might have reached double digits). People would just read whichever they preferred. And even in book things get multiple translations, so its odd there is this big focus on sniping now. If multiple people want to translate so be it.

I can see both sides of the argument, but at the end of the day, if someone or a group has an interest in translating a series they're going to do it, so whining about sniping does nothing to change the situation.

Also, before this turns into some Odyssey-length epic in the replies, the quality is really a secondary issue; I just despise snipers, which is all this group has done on MD to date, including sniping one group to the point they gave up on that series, and from their lack of future updates, maybe from scanslating entirely. Fuck that.
