In context, it does feel like the translation confuses the subjects/pronouns on that page.

It looks like it's meant to be saying that Gholl had someone they (Gholl & Sleipnir) wanted to talk to, so they (Valentine etc.) brought them (Gholl & Sleipnir) along.
Which the text gets largely backwards.

I think 'wives factory' pretty much summed it up since human-demon relationships atm seems to chalk up to: "Isn't this human woman FINE AS F--?" and a demon going: "You know what? Bet." and adjusting their entire world view. That or food.
