Well, too bad only me and two other people have the whole Volume. See you guys next week.
I don't feel like setting this up as a cliffhanger really works. If you think about it, the downside of telling a story through a flashback is that we already know how it ends. We know that Snek comes out on top, despite the hit, because Snek still exists in the present day and the doctor is never mentioned in the present. We know that Snek and Centipede have an interaction because both still exist in the present day. There are still some specifics, but we know the majority because the story is hindsight. It's like someone watching Star Wars prequels and asking "Oh man, can Anakin Skywalker resist the dark side?" and then you remember the answer is "lol no" because we already know he becomes Darth Vader in the original trilogy.

Thank you for the new chapter!

Amane: Yasaka-san, you can't leave me with a cliffhanger like that, I demand you release the next chapter ASAP, and if you don't, I will keep trying to transform into a super saiyan until there is not more spirit power left in my body for you.

Yeah it is but the real fun part is to know how it reaches that point.
If anything that makes me want to see them meet up and probably be cool with each other than before.
If the snake was actually evil we would had already seen his actions already

Not just who, what, when.
How and why are also important questions

it doesnt mean the snake won, it could have just fled. the doctors legacy, even if he died could be setting up for a new conflict in the current era. it is a bit foreboding that he was creating a curse by fusing a person with strong spiritual power with animals, when dara herself is a fusion of a spiritually powerful human with a cursed snake.

Seeing as how Mengele and Unit 731 both engaged in similar experiments, even if less ambitious (grafting body parts from one prisoner to another; or from one twin to another), hundreds of years later, it's unlikely much of this particular madman's work survived.

The worst kind of pain is caused by betrayal... he didn't just hurt her, he betrayed her, he lied to her about his love and care.

From what was said here, Ryukan willingly relinquished his authority over the mountain to Yasaka, considering most of his body and mind were already in another plane; he probably did it so that the mountain didn't stay without a master/guardian.

And it seems he did like Yasaka's potential... again, considering he didn't seem resentful toward Dara-san even when she first exorcised him, nor after she fused with him, he may have recognised that Yasaka unfortunately may have been corrupted by his own hatred, and his defeat was just part of the wheel.

His willingly taking the pill must have been his way to at least guide the remnants of the kid he saw potential in, and the new one who found herself in such pain and fear.

I think the point here isn't the "mystery of the unknown" story, but rather "the understanding of past events"... I have to admit, as I wrote this, I am not certain those are the best ways to describe my line of thought, but please bear with me a little as I stumble to an explanation.

As you mentioned, we already know the ultimate result of those events; we are "living" those events in the present.

But the point is... we didn't know how we reached this point in the present, and that is the point of the flashbacks: for us to understand the background of the characters that are so important to the current story.

There are a lot of new little and big details that have been revealed little by little... Ryukan's very presence kinda explains, but I think, mostly deepens the "mythos" and "history" of the world.

And more than anything... they are important for what will happen in the future in view of the present... there are things that we could call loose ends... the remnant of the sister, Yasaka's sealed head, the nature of the divinity in this mountain.
