    Now I can read manga again.

    My new place has many stray cats poking around, which makes me quite happy.

    But then I noticed that many of them are sneezing a lot. So, that makes me concerned that this place is not as healthy as I originally thought.

    Taken in the middle of the night, tried to increase the contrast and brightness, but I think I made it worse.

    Maybe it's because I'm in a bit of the countryside now that I see stray cats.
    When I was still in the city, I never saw a stray cat, let alone a sick one, because it seemed that if residents found one, they would immediately report it and have it taken care of by officers.

    It's really not like in the manga.

    Visiting my old uni, and I can't help but notice that the lecture slides I made as a TA when I was doing my PhD almost a decade ago are still being used today.
    On one hand, I'm flattered that my slides are considered that good they keep using them.
    On the other hand, has nothing been updated at all?

    Almost had a heart attack while jogging this afternoon.
    As I passed through a dark, quiet parking lot, I didn't notice a woman sitting inside the only parked car.
    As I approached, a light from inside the car illuminated her from below, revealing a head obscured by long, wavy hair
    (probably from a smartphone or something).

    Fucking hell, old lady. I thought a Japanese yokai had finally appeared!

    After listening to the Harry Potter full-cast audiobook while jogging these past few months,
    finished them twice, all seven volumes, back-to-back,
    I still haven't found another audiobook I want to listen to.

    For some reason, I'm no longer interested in other Western fantasy books anymore,
    and I absolutely can't listen to Japanese fantasy LNs with non-anime voices.

    Now, my jogging time feels so empty.

    Three days in a row, it started raining the exact second I finished my morning run.
    It is as if God knew I was out there jogging and waited until I stepped inside the house before letting it drizzle.

    the steps to reproduce are a bit weird:
    open front page, open latest updates, see if it's the same,
    wait till someone upload a new chapter,
    open front page, open latest updates, and sometimes the front page is not updating
    and since it's rather inconsistent, I'm not sure if it's the problem in my cache file or a global problem

    This manga is so infuriating.
    Like, it's so stupid, but I can't exactly pass it off as unrealistic, because I've seen these kinds of people with my own two eyes.
    The story itself is just the classic karma/comeuppance trope.
    Something to read if you want to increase your blood pressure.

    But what's interesting is, in the 2nd arc, it's like they tried to make the antagonist, the shitty person from the 1st arc as the protagonist.

    But it's not like a redemption arc (at least for now), the character is still the shitty person.
    And it's neither a backstory about how they got that way, which is usually used to get some kind of sympathy.

    It's more like the story is going for a 'look from a different perspective' kind of thing.

    Dang, it's already on Volume 4, but none of the volumes show up on the Shoseki Ranking. Is it digital-only? It also doesn't have many ratings on Amazon, so I'm guessing it doesn't sell much. And Volume 4 has a 3.7-star rating on Amazon... Makes you wonder.

    I already hate it when translators put unnecessary commentary on the page.
    I mean, I appreciate your work, I can stomach it if it's like 1 or 2 in a chapter,
    but when they're on every page, god forbid, every panel?
    I'll just read the raws.

    And now, there are translations that put new, nonexistent subtext into the panels.
    There are no such quippy one-liners in the raws.

    [1/2] For me, every page translation commentary is justified if it's used for explain something hard since the manga brings complex topics. For example, Gendai Shakai de Otome Game. That's manga really having many things that couldn't become understandable if they don't put translation commentary everywhere since the macro economy things isn't really well discussed as how micro economy was.

    [2/2] People discussing a lot about how egg price in market but not really dig deep when discussing about the egg distributor company's shareholders, company merge plan, or any else. So they need to bridging the understanding with putting a lot of translation commentary.

    But, if the commentary is really unnecessary then I am agree with you. Just leave your unnecessary chats on the team discord chat, dude. I want to read my manga alone.

    If it is like additional context or info crucially needed for the immediate panel/page, then it is always welcome.
    I even said it before that I really liked old One Piece fan translations that had tons of notes about Zorro's attacks,
    since they're always puns in Japanese.
    What I hate are those "haha, so funny", "yeah, fuck him" comments on the page.

    I have no problem with swear words, I fucking swear all the fucking time.
    But I do prefer little to a complete absence of present-day profanity in fantasy stories,
    especially those modern lingo ones.
    They certainly shatter my immersion.

    After imagining that dark twist on the wholesome yuri manga last week,
    seeing the Blue Origin news, I can't help but have this dark thought about the 'aspiring astronaut girl' manga.

    Imagine if the story ends with a literal bang.

    Now, seeing 'Kureimoa' has given me an extra headache.

    But Berserk is still Berserk, Black Clover is still Black Clover.
    Fairy Tail is Fairy Tail, and Monster is Monster.
