I decided to reread all of the top JP-voted chapters and I think this one ends up being my favourite. That first page is a work of art, you can just about taste the humanity of it.

I like this guy a lot but I've got an uncanny feeling this is not the type of story where an elite detective blows away some criminals, kicks down some doors, and solves the issue of the secret society. I'm pretty sure his ending is going to be way worse than that. :fml:

With regard to the quality of depicting achieving a dream and the sacrifices required, I think this is up there with Andre Agassi's autobiography Open. There are so few people in the world that will truly understand what achieving a dream means. Most people will never even get the opportunity...
