a lot of people say don't care about sniping huh
just like @Excelsior said, there are a lot of case like that, some manga get sniped, original group decided to drop the series, and after a few chapter released, the sniper group vanished without a word or decided to drop the series too, and then begging to pick up the series begin

The spectator just coming out of nowhere with the freestyle rap explanation no one asked for really tied the joke together.

Also, people arguing about sniping: the entire idea of "sniping" seems dumb to me. Nobody involved in scanlation has any real claim to any of these series, and while I could understand the issue of sniping if the sniper scan was sup-par, or if this was the only series (or the priority series) the original scan group did, clearly niether of those complaints apply in this case. I always thought the point of scanlating was for the love of a series, and for wanting to allow more people to be able to appreciate a series, not purely for group clout or funding. If, at the end of the day, a series gets scanlated and it gets scanlated well then who the fuck cares who does it. Just be happy that it happened.

I like this group more since I don't have to see the nonsense shipping wars on the credit page. They like shipping then keep it to themselves.

@Monochrome_Scholar You don't understand that sniping can lead to no one translating the series. They may started translating because they love a series but they also look for people that appreciate their translation. They spend their time to work on translating a series then it turns out someone else already do it and posted it then why should they bother translating it again? They will drop the series and then the new translation group drop it too because they don't have enough resources to continue the work or they were just translated a few chapters for fun and no one translates the series in the end. That is something I witnessed a lot in the past with some of the manga I follow, some groups after they dropped the series, even took down all of the translated chapters too. The ones who lose in the end are us, readers.

@miyako19 but that's exactly the point, the onus in that situation lies solely with the scanlators, from a reader standpoint sniping doesn't matter, and if someone is willing to drop a series that they are supposedly devoted to translating just because another team decided to, quite frankly, pick up the slack for a few chapters then that's on them. After all, we aren't talking about two different scans of the same chapter released within a day or so from each other, we are talking about being at least five chapters behind. I understand that most scanlation groups take on multiple series, but when they try to cover too much, inevitably some get higher priority than others, and those that don't take their focus (like this one) fall by the wayside, and the only ones that lose out in that situation are the fans and readers forced to wait until they feel like getting round to it. So, speaking soley as a reader, if the quality of the job remains high and the release schedule is up to date then I honestly don't care who does the job as long as the job gets done.

@miyako19 I see no reason why a group can't re-pick up a manga that's been sniped and dropped other than ego. They can't be upset when readers flock to a translation that's close in quality and faster. It doesn't mean we don't appreciate the work they've done so far.
