I can not access latest posts due to lack of a Facebook account. I can only understand some Japanese. If I were to translate it without ChatGPT, the translation would be way worse. But if I did not understand the general gist of the speech bubbles, and simply copy-pasted, it would still be off. I think, for now, my technique is enough to translate this simple manga.
WIth all due respect if you can't understand a language at even a basic level then you shouldn't be translating.

You are hopeless, well fine. Just do whatever you want. Remember that your works are absolutely horrendous quality wise and you also have no manners.

No, your "technique" is not enough to translate text from primary schoolbook. Same goes for your editing skills.
@BB-62 sorry for calling you out, hope you don't mind, but at the same time I hope you won't get discouraged by that... abomination. Keep it up man, you're doing great job.

Sure, I don't mind when 2 groups are working on the same title - look Sono Bisque Doill. So let me ask this:
1. Where was this guy, while this title wasn't updated for almost a month?
2. Why he randomly decided to start uploading from chapter 170, instead of earlier chapters?
3. This MTL was already on the internet for almost 2 months on some aggregator sites and now he's dumping all of this low quality, low effort bullshit on mangadex - why?
Talk all you want how term "snipe" is bullshit, but it is real. And here you got prime example. He has literally no prior uploads, account created 4 days ago and dumping stuff as fast as possible, without any effort put to it.
1) I don't know this guy, he may have been busy doing something else. Life happens to a lot of translators. He could also be doing it maliciously like you're implying. Again, I don't know the guy.

2) Dunno, don't care, not reading his work because it's low quality, to me. Rather wait for the better quality more consistent release from Yoru.

3) Dunno, don't care.

4) "Snipe" is bullshit, and not real. The entire concept was created because groups like Jaimini's Box and similar were trying to force other translations off the internet so theirs was the only one available, and in doing so drive up their ad revenue, and later, their paid early access chapter schemes. Someone wants to come in and dump a bunch of low-effort, low-quality work? Whatever. Discard it like the dreck it is, wait for decent uploads.

For me there is two different concepts there. Two groups working on a same series is ok. There's a lot of cases on different series where that's done and people are not complaining there. So, no problem there, that's not sniping. Sniping is when someone tries to upload the latest chapters on a series already being actively worked on and with a translation that was done fast and without effort. The problem with this, is people that are catching up and while reading, click next and find the low quality tl that ruins the reading experience they were having.
See above.

Everyone's rightfully complaining about the horrifying ChatGPT translation, but I'm out here wondering how left-align happens. Like, have we never read manga before? Have we never once even seen how comics are lettered? I feel like it's the most intuitive of intuitions regarding this form of literature that text in a bubble should be centred...

Easiest uploader block of my life.
You barely even speak the language you're attempting to translate to.

Please remember that scanlation is not just the translation part. Even if you can just quickly MTL things and edit into decent English (no idea if you did this since I didn't even bother to read what was posted after seeing the text), you still have to worry about cleaning, typesetting, and proofreading. There's a reason people usually do this in teams and it takes awhile. If it was just the translation I could just pump out the rest of the series in a weekend, but that's not how the manga scanlation scene works.

PaintTool SAI can't center text.

Ok from all I am reading here, the only issue that people have with this translation is that their reading experience got ruined when a bad translation suddenly appeared when they clicked on the "next chapter".

Does a warning text on the first page stating "this is a mtl" make you guys happier about this? I don't get why you are so mad when you can just not read what you don't like...

Ahh, Ren. We actually chatted quite often, back when he used to actually own and run Wuxiaworld, especially back during the earliest days of the site with the coiling ink dragon background (though not the days before even that iteration of the website, which was for half a year IIRC?). The man ended up running the site into the ground because of chasing monetization the same way that Jaimini's Box and similar did, so where once people would give whatever they had to the translators whenever they could, and they'd queue up extra chapters for everyone to get, it became dedicated single-person benefits where large amounts of chapters were gated off for cash as "early access". But that's what happens when you 'go legit' and join big business before selling off the IP while it's still profitable, I guess; terrible practices are accepted because "it's just business".

Anyways, he is correct here on the core premise, though, which you seem to be ignoring and is at the core of what I and the other guy are getting at: "readers, please, please, PLEASE be nice to your translators, especially the slow but steady ones. And please do not try to stir up and incite translators against each other, because when you do that, you are killing the goose that lays the golden egg." If you don't like the rushed MTL work, don't support it, but don't be a fucking jerk about it, either. Just continue to positively support the translators that do a good job and don't harass them. If you disagree with something they have done, by all means make it known, but again, don't be a jerk about it.

Does this qualify as a "simple" manga? Some of the mind games they pull on each other are on the more difficult side of translation, and multiple pov scenarios is often more easily screwed up by MTL.
Hm, that's a valid point. What counts as " simple " is subjective. I don't blindly put machine translated script. I read it while translating, changing the text until I think it fits the scene. I am not good with names so do not be surprised about the errors concerning names in my translation.
