For much the same reason the late '60's are 'nostalgic' for a bunch of folks born well after - everything looks better with a bit of distance.

I wasn't aware people were like that. So, it's like when Stranger Things came out and everyone was obsessed with the 80s.

the past is meant to be remembered, not experienced type of feeling in general.

In some ways the interweb and connected 24/7 social culture has just added to a lot of the imagined and self inflicted stress/crisis/drama the zoomers are wallowing in now. :pout:

It's worth noting that the 90s is really the last decade that had much of an identity in terms of media. All the stuff coming out today like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, He-man, Ghost Busters, Transformers, Star Trek, Star Wars, etc, were created in the 90s or before.
