Adachi and Shimamura has got to be one of my favorite pairs in yuri couples. Seeing Adachi bumbling into success and Shimamura teasing her an enjoying herself at the same time. These two gay girls are meant for each other. Shimamura smiling so happily when talking to Adachi is such a blessing.

Aaah this chapter was so cute! I didn't exect Shima to say it back, that was very precious.

But man, some people here are expecting the most boring romance ever... Like why would you complain about the girls being annoying when their awkwardness is basically the core of the series? Adachi is obsessive and needy. Shimamura is blunt and emotionally stunted. The pair should be a recipe for disaster but somehow they still manage to move things forward.

That's what I like about this story. Of course they still have a ways to go, but growth doesn't happen in a day. Honestly that writing style feels way more engaging to me.

like, fundamentally, the problem really isn't that shimamura is less in love and needs ho fall more deeply in love. note that, in this chapter, when she was half-conscious and not fully aware of herself, she told adachi she loved her, but, once she was more awake and processing what she was doing, she struggled to. this is where her problem is, not in how in love she is, but in the expression of and processing of her feelings which are there already. when she doesn't have the chance to think about it, of course she's saying she loves adachi. when she has every opportunity to think about it, that becomes more difficult.

neurodivergent people usually, tho not always, date other neurodivergent people because, in our neurological structures being different from established societal norms, we find it easier to relate to each other.

this isn't unhealthy nor is it a problem in a relationship. if anything, it is healthy to have your closest social connections be with people who can understand you more deeply than most and not be with people who treat you like there's something wrong with you for being yourself.

Man I hated the anime for this, and I think it's just cuase the story is such a slow burn that what they were able to adapt in twelve episodes just doesn't do anything for me but I'm loving seeing more of it. If I could bring any amount of myself to give a damn about light novels I would definitely read this one.

It's in Adachi to Shimamura SS, it's a book that contains short stories from different time periods of AdaShima's life (if it helps you can find eng fan translation online by sneikimmies), although them kissing is first mentioned in volume 11.
I really do recommend reading the SS it's probably one of my fav volumes, if not favourite
