But this is just some 'me want easy easy life, ha ha', in a warring medieval world. Yanno, the time in human history where even nobles needed to be fit. If there wasn't an incoming war i could understand, but man.
Hate it when people don't put in the minimum training and get maximally rewarded
Honestly understandable, that’s why I love the intergalactic overlord LN/manga, dude wants to be a villain and leech off his subjects but just makes good decisions, basically working hard to be lazy, I could like this one more if he was actively training as well and training while asleep but then I guess he wouldn’t have Sloth as a magic lol
I'll be watching this one, but I have to complain about something: having something move your body around while you're unconscious wouldn't work as exercise. Exercise works to reduce body weight by burning calories via chemical work—however, if you're not moving your body with your muscles you're not doing any chemical work. Similarly, Luke won't get any stronger this way, as strength gains are due to putting strain on your muscle cells, which causes damage to some of them, requiring that they get replaced; continuous cycles of damage and replacement will signal to the body that it needs to reinforce the area to handle the presumed upcoming strain. Because Luke isn't putting strain on his muscles and is instead being moved around by an external force, his muscles won't get any stronger.
Tl;dr it sucks but you can't cheat biomechanics, not even with magic that does the work for you.
It mentions that that the "val" spell enters his body and takes information from his mind and since his attributes are sloth and sleep it could be that he puts himself to sleep then val enters him, takes info and manipulates his mind to do something like sleepwalk and essentially makes him move as if he was awake and moving in that way on purpose.
First ever manga that I would rate 9/10 from the first 3 chapters.
Idea 9/10 extremely great and original for mc and most other characters but a little repetitive on the magic part
Execution 8/10 really good. That's all I can say so it only gets 8/10
Storyline(so far) 9/10 entertaining and good pacing
Art 8/10
Overall(when combined, not averaged) 9/10
Overall(when averaged) 8.5/10

I am aware. I originally had a post where I admitted to knowing that now, and also detailing why it's not possible to sleep through strenuous exercise because the neurochemistry is literally contradictory—GABA's role in muscle inhibition during regular sleep is directly contrary to abrineurin (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) which appears to directly counter GABA's effect and acetylcholine which functions as an important component of "waking up" by enhancing alertness and attention, both of which are neurochemicals involved in exercise. But I deleted that message because I realized the author can just claim "it's magic, so it works like I say" and brush aside any legitimate criticisms based in logic. But at least now you know a little bit about the actual science behind why this idea wouldn't work. 🤷♂️
I like that they effectively answered why he was so obnoxiously lazy, but putting a little girl who specializing in cooking on a diet is abhorrent - never trust a skinny cook.
They are indeed not wrong. But 3 points are just subjective likes and dislikes. When i was younger i liked Naruto, Bleach (battle stuff and growing). Now i think it's tiring to read, i became lazy ass adult who understands that constant stress and fighting is a highway to the cemetary.
Though i do like slice of life genre more than action genre....So yeah him being too op is actually a pro for me (means that action scenes will be a few panels instead of whole chapers). Undeserving thing is irrelavant, because i think there is no justice in this world and everything is more or less arbitrary(like some people win in genetic lottery and achieve success while other might struggle their whole lifes and gain nothing).
Reaons for finding marriage partner is very subjective, out pure love is too childish for me so i actually like it more when some practical reasons are given beyond "love".
Though other 3 points are indeed critical and are objective standards of measuring quality.

and that ain't counting the main difference between who lives and dies in an actual fight. Experience.
So what if Val can move him super fast? Does it have battle IQ? Unless he was a great boxer in his world he's cooked against any half-decent medieval wrestler, yanno, the most popular sport across human history. Wrestling is not a popular game style, pure wrestling. 'Domination' is a mild description to what would happen, and not by him.
He has an arsenal of insanely flashy moves, goes unconscious and uses his base instincts to fight. Sounds good on paper, until you realize that 'base instincts' has zero strategy, and fighting is basically all strategy after the first year of competing.
Masters of taekwondo get destroyed by a subpar muay thai fighter, because of flash. And they're the fastest kickers in the world, and unlike him, they don't have the reach of a children. What's his chances?
While all other lazy series start as the character being lazy as a comedy/satire like 7th prince mage or where they get roped into working hard like "Reincarnated as the Lazy and Villainous Noble, I Broke the Scenario and Became the Most Formidable With Extraordinary Magic". This character is actually just lazy. They also did the most sacrilegious thing as showing body training, the very act that shows general anime trend of showing hard work by characters, done by magical slime. This is a very bad sign in the direction the story is heading.
As this is obv not a parody/satire, you need to give explanation as to how the slime(val) gets controlled because you cannot create a golem with AI off magic that everyone can use. It destroys the balance and world building specially if only Mc did those shortcuts using something everyone has access to.

Yeah but the way you said it is inaccurate it's more of a "it's magic, so I can make a reasonable explanation and everyone is forced to agree due to a lack of evidence" then a "it's magic, so it works as I say"

I checked out the web novel out of curiosity and the incest vibe from the first few chapters is quite alarming, the eldest brother lust after the 2nd sister who lust after the 3rd brother (MC). Like that scene where she was having party in the manga for example, she was secretly getting wet thinking about ravishing her brother, like slow the F down lol
There are tons of similar ones, there are few where MC is someone who can be respected and looked up upon.
Up to chapter 3, MC actually sounds like an adult or at least someone who has enough brains to understand what he is, where he is and how to adapt. Wheres usually MC's are a mess and opposites of what i described.
I recommend it.
I've read the novel reviews and they aren't good, main takeaways:
1) MC is boring and too op
2) He is undeserving of harem and fans
3) His reasons for finding marriage partner is shitty
4) Poor world building
5) One dimensional characters
6) Everyone else is stupid
1) As many other isekai mangas(novels), they have the same troupe but the main POV is hard to watch or relate to. It's not about how OP he is it's about he uses it and journeys with it. It's not a battle manga (for now) where we need to see MC growing stronger, facing deadly enemies, almost losing their life and then be saved by power of friendship and plot armor.
The main point he isn't given his powers from the get go, he found ways to self improve from the age of 5.
Combine his adult brain with good pedigree and you have someone really OP, like that shit happens in real life all the fucking time. Someone who has good background, genetics and a motivation not to be a fuck up will likely rarely see any strong adversary in life, usually they snowball life.
Though i do agree that it is wish fulfillment manga, but i do not imagine i am MC but i can relate to him on the basis that he is lazy, stoic and logical.
2) Some people stated that due to his training regime (the way he does it) makes it feel cheap that he has so many fans......Bitch please, some people need to grind books and run crosses for many hours a day while some people need half of your time to achieve even greater results and guess who has more fans? The more successful one, your effort is important only to you and maybe people who will follow your footsteps others mostly like the result of your success.
3) Finding a wife based on her cooking magic(skill). Why not? Disney and movies in general are not representative of reality. Romantic love is the current trend because we were zombified. Reality is marriages were used for convenience almost always and people learned to deal with their partners and grow to love and respect them eventually.
He finds her appearance pleasant, she is also a noble and her skills compliment his way of life. Not everyone strives to be a king, some of us found zen in having it easy and enjoying life without the rat race.
4) Agreed, this is marker for bad writing. Above stated things are subjective of your way of life and outlook on the world. World building is an important pillar of every story.
5) Agreed, if characters are surface level it tells you that story is low quality. It's like living in a world of puppets and understanding that you are living in a world of puppets.
6) Also agreed that this is a major problem. MC being intelligent only by a factor that everyone else is around iq 80 and below might be a great factor for disliking something.
Yes, me, the reader. Nah. ANY reader. Because progress without effort appears illogical.
I boxed, during my first year and I could go toe to toe with a guy who'd been there for 3 and was 20 pounds heavier. In my third amateur match I lights out'd a guy almost 50 pounds heavier. I learned how to punch faster, I learned how to apply power better. After a bit people were asking me how to fix their straight. There is some understanding I had that they just didn't.
But, guess what? i still had to work.
Every day I trained, even a little much as an hour, I trained, day in day out. I didn't train more than the veterans, but i trained a lot. More than the average person ever would in the same time. My training was edited it looked weird and i got backlash for it. I looked crazy for my methods, even though I had success, but only I saw the early success.
Congratulations only came after I prove the success, not to myself, but infront a crowd.
And to everyone else, i looked like I just trained a year and got better than most people in the gym.
That is illogical, it's frustrating, to anyone who isn't me. Naturally, Boring, is a story where the main character doesn't work for their power. Even worse if the 'method' of gaining 'expert' power, is illogical and nonsensical. Struggle is how a man expresses his personality, not effort. Who he really is is revealed with his struggle.
How can I get emotionally attached to someone who never struggled? I don't know them.
How can I get emotionally attached to someone who I don't know?
The job of the author is not to make an underpowered protagonist, it's to show us the struggle in him only he knows.
