@simba6 Those 3 women and the man are out for the mistress, the woman that Marie was almost seduced by. She's the mistress of the current king, and Marie is married to the heir. Apparently those three women are the daughters of said king and they hate their father's mistress because she's a commoner and a prostitute, and they want to use Marie to help attack her. In the original telling (according to the dream Marie had anyway) Marie verbally attacks the mistress because she's a prostitute (it's against god's will or something). This Marie, however, hates her because of her wasteful use of the royal treasure instead and couldn't care less if the mistress is a commoner or a prostitute.
