It’s not excusable, but I kinda get adult Di’s vibe. It’s frustrating when a wunderkind comes out of nowhere and usurps your position, standing, and fiancé (I think, I don’t recall the original premise completely).

What she does from then on is the true test of her character, but considering the title, I’m guessing she failed in the OG storyline.

Game plot is the meta reason, but for an in-universe reason, I think it's just a simple brain fart brought on by nerves and stress.

She's naturally intelligent and quite talented, so she spent years at the top quite effortlessly; then Little Miss Mary Sue comes in, steals the spotlight completely, and suddenly, she's questioning everything she thought she knew. Is she really as competent as she thought? Is she really as smart as she thought?

Self-doubt is insidious and can lead to a swift loss of self-confidence if not nipped in the bud.

Pretty sure she used her isekaiee knowledge so far to help her financially struggling father, which hints at her not being a selfish cunt.
She actually seems to be an honestly nice person.

Her reaction to the events not happening was mostly theorizing and then being frustrated at not having video games
