People saying that they should just communicate when we see in this very chapter that Reshutoka makes an active effort to communicate with Karina and see what's wrong, but Karina refuses to. She's a bit dumb already, so she'd naturally end up trying to guess what Karina wants.
And even if Karina spoke, it's clear not even she knows what she wants.

It feels like a lot of people get used to hearing "just communicate" so often in reactions to stories that genuinely over force miscommunication for conflict, that they start repeating it everywhere as if "just communicate" is a golden rule of writing. But there are many situations where humans either can't put together the right words at the right moment, or they may not even understand themselves well enough to articulate what they need. If communication was so simple and effective, we wouldn't need to pay therapists for it.

The problem isn't that the revenge wasn't good enough! It's that she never wanted revenge in the first place! She convinced herself that what she wanted was revenge, but then she got it and she just felt nothing because it was never what she actually wanted.
I wished more people reached this conclusion when talking abt her "lackluster" revenge😭😭😭

So in short, the Prince's hatred is irrational, misplaced, and therefore unreasonable. There is no reason for him to hate her (enough to not only have her banished but also assassinated) over her parents when it was their decision.
Think abt it, the decision wasn't taken by Karina's parents alone, the king wouls have also been involved and agree to it, orlando probably protested but it's not like he can go against his father. He prob thinks he got served leftovers and he's a prideful egocentric rich prick, it's lit no surprise he hates karina.
This is a classical "I can't get mad at the source so i'll get mad at the next best thing" which ended up being karina.

I don't know if it's the translation but i feel like the way Reshtoka worded this could be interpreted as "i did everything you wanted, why are you not happy? can't you be happy for me? everyone is expecting you to be happy now?" LIKE! i know she's being genuinely concerned abt Karina but i fear karina wont see it that way.

Also very excited and very scared specially for Eve since she mentioned that wolfkin only respect strength and she will def be caught in the middle.

(I'm guessing the friend will snitch to karina abt what Reshtoka is about to do and welp, that might be finally reunion time for Karina and Aurora.)

Like, Karina didn't see it that way. That's why she snapped at Reshtoka.

You wished people would reach a conclusion based on non-existent evidence? Can't say I agree.

Think abt it, the decision wasn't taken by Karina's parents alone, the king wouls have also been involved and agree to it, orlando probably protested but it's not like he can go against his father.
Nothing to think about. You just said it yourself. The decision was initiated and made by Karina's parents first, and then the King agreed to it. Meaning that if the Parents never initiated it, the King wouldn't had agreed. Meaning that the parents were the cause of it. It's not hard to comprehend for goodness sake...

The only thing that we're told that the King wanted was for someone from Karina's family to wed the Prince. It didn't matter to the king whether it was Karina or Aurora. It just had to be one of them. The only ones it mattered to was the Prince (who wanted Aurora), and Karina's parents (who didn't want Aurora to marry the prince).

So again. It ain't about Orlando raising complaint against Karina's parents or lack thereof. It's about Orlando showing absolutely no disdain, hatred, and/or murderous intent towards Karina's parents, when they were his obstacles as opposed to Karina. It's not like Karina's family was a powerful one; in fact, they were mentioned to be a rather poor noble family. So it's not like the Prince couldn't go after them.

I actually find it funny that you guys claim to do analysis or read between the lines with characters, but you only do it with Karina (or Aurora), when it's convenient for your 'argument' (pfft), but when it comes to other characters like the Prince... Oh, you conveniently look at them in black and white perspective, without giving as deep a thought towards their motives. But then again... Considering how much you guys had to make up just to make your argument, I guess it would be easier...

Alright, I'll give u what made me reach this conclusion. Like heck, i remember reaching this conclusion back in chapter 5!

Based on the comment i quoted:
she never wanted revenge in the first place

Starting with that Karina was never actually evil. Like, i don't know what evil means to you people but to me it means someone despicable and irredeemable. To my understanding, she was/is a kind person because:

- Her whole childhood up to when she arrived at the castle, like to me her being evil in the castle felt more like an act to fit w the "noble princess" role rather than her true personality given how she is described in her childhood. Her being evil is mostly said by other ppl and is highly speculated that Orlando started those rumors to get rid of her. Like, i truly believe she was mean(the act) but ppl just exaggerated how mean she was.

-First on chapter 1 when she decided to help puppy Reshtoka
-Reading to the children back in chapter 3 and doing it bc it remind her of her sister
-And her interactions with Reshtoka up to the end of chapter 4. Even tho she's stating that she will use the wolf tribe for her own means, the manga makes the effort to show her body language showing her true emotions(like when reshtoka showed her the room she made for her)
-This is more a me thing but, besides the mentions of her acting as such, Karina was kinda not shown acting as a villain(besides when she got mad that her sister redecorated her castle) emphasis in shown, i mean like, when a character is plotting something you can usually tell their evil intent from how the panel is depicting them, with Karina she was mostly shown being sad or mad.
-Other people constantly mentioning she is/was kind

from an older comment:
The way these nobles describe Karina doesn't sound like anything we've seen before, So, either her parents installed this behavior onto her, abt "how royalty should and are expected to behave"(most likely) , or she's very good at switching personalities. specially odd bc it's not just one or two people but everyone seemed to say the same.

Why do i believe she was just grieving?

It's been shown(and stated chapter 10 page 5) several times that karina is haunted by her past, is been shown that Karina didn’t want to do the whole princess thing(chapter 3 page 3), something that is revelated on later chapters is that Karina was a perfect daughter a people pleaser(chapter 7 page 6 and most of chap 14) so to my understanding she was happy (knowingly) sacrificing herself for other people's happiness, but now is faced w that no matter how much she gave no one was happy and she even got exiled. Taking in consideration chapter 3 page 3, one would assume this was not the first time she had these kinds of thoughts, so while she was trying to make everyone happy, thoughts like these simmered in the back of her head and i think the broken engagement and exile was the last drop and her anger went to the person that all this scenarios had in common, her sister. (which is kinda funny bc it was mostly her parents and just like Orlando instead of blaming the parents, she blames the next best thing, Aurora.

Also to add, Karina's hatred toward aurora is biased bc not one of the memories(that are supposed to be shaped in her own perception) do we see Aurora acting in a malicious manner, which is possible like in chapter 5 page 19.

so taking this in consideration, she's mad and sad that her sacrifices were in vain and that no matter what she did she ended up alone. very typical behavior when you're hurting is want hurt others as they did you, so this is where the revenge part come from. she thinks that if she does this big thing all her problems will go away, stated on chapt 10 pages 5-6 she's wondering if she truly will be happy after doing so.

She never really stated a solid plan rather than hurt them and "take everything back". So, from my point of view I was never expecting her to do any real damage that's why when she enacted her revenge and only kinda just gave them a scare i wasn't surprised. Now I'll say, i don't know what meaning the ring has for her to take it, but if it's what other ppl have been saying and it's some wedding relic, then in a sense she did exactly what she said. hurt them by stealing her engagement back, altho yeah, the nobles really didn't care.

As to your other point w Orlando, you're right, i kinda don't give too much thought to his actions bc to me he's a jerk and will choose be mean unprompted. Karina's parent weren't an obstacle bc them not wanting to give Aurora up wasn't a known thing to everyone(to my knowledge) so when they offered Karina instead of aurora bc she's sick is not like he could object, also it's not like karina's parents lived at the castle, so we don't know his attitude towards them at the time. however, do you know had to live at the castle 24/7? Karina. Like i said, it's no wonder he pushed his anger towards her.

Look, you can take this however you like, after all is speculation and my reasoning will most likely change when more info and context is revealed, like there are stuff that still don't make sense to me in the story, but saying people reached similar conclusions with zero or made up evidence is wild bc the subtext (and outright text) is there.

(any mistakes are my own, I'm really tired and putting this into words was really tiresome)
Edit: fixed some grammar 😭

First, I appreciate the detailed response. It was far better and more insightful than what the others who shared your stance have given (with one of them practically using jibberish and illogical reasoning that fail, before getting all hurt when it's pointed out), and despite my disagreeing with portions of it, I'll say that it actually makes sense which definitely deserves applause by that alone.

One thing to note is that, never had anyone said that Karina was evil. Sure people expect her to be a villainess, but the trope and idea of Villainess has long detached itself from being defined as evil, and thus rarely expects one to be purely evil or commit evil deeds.

With that said, I do again appreciate your response, and I can understand how you reached that conclusion. And thus I can respect it.

Oh, that's on me then. I do take it as being literal evil, otherwise they're just antagonists.
and also i don't read much Villainess tropes bc they always fell into the trope of just being dumb spoiled rich kids (unless reincarnated)

Yeah I'd say that ever since Bakarina and Bertia, the idea of villainess has changed from being a evil noble (and/or antagonist) to becoming a noble heroine who either has to deal with fate and/or will be dealt with a bad hand and must adjust to it. Most of the time, the villainesses of this trope are also kind women who rarely hurt others, and if they do it's usually done as an act to maintain an image (and even then said image doesn't always come across as evil).

Can reshtoka really understand someone who lose everything... when she got everything?

Probably in a hundred years more!

What they need is communication..

Think about it, how does every friendly protagonist like naruto win in every battle against powerful opponent???

HE TALKS TO MUCH!!!

rambling about things .. in the end aligning what he wants to what the opponent desire and lacked.

They need to talk... Karina need to let out all her insecurities, her thoughts, and feelings about her family.

about her life... and how she feels empty, hollow and desolated.

Reshtoka.. needs to understand her. .. listen to her. Then she will understand that killing Aurora won't make Karina happy.

Coz Karina wants to be accepted and acknowledged...

They need to have a talk and greatly understand each other. (I forgot the word to describe that lol)

At this point, I'll blame Karina. Reshtoka's missunderstanding will make a great chaos due to Karina's silence.
