depends on how much of the 'long game' the wife is playing for revenge or not XD; i half expect a chapter where they're in the middle of it for the original guy to walk in and it's revealed that the wife made every other aspect of his life miserable which drove him to cheat in the first place(not an excuse but yeah)

To me it felt more like Sayoko was subtly encouraging Meari's eating disorder than trying to help her out of it, the line "I appreciate you being so considerate of me" in particular. I'm not sure how exactly therapy to get people out of disordered eating works so I don't know for sure though, she could be doing what is recommended.
