Didn't he also accept that sus alchemy teacher's help about getting the monster girls from Washio? How much of this plot was he filled in on? If he agreed to all of this, then his confusing tsundere act has just fallen short and revealed how much of a pos he is, and we still have no idea what the alchemy teacher's game is for reeling him in and how he's somehow involved with the dragon girl who's just a pos to everyone around her, including Washio.

I think someone earlier said it best, this arc is getting rather contrived with very little context to go on and it's getting annoying to where I just don't enjoy the fan service as much as I did at the start. I seriously hope we'll get some light shined on some of this bullshit within the next few chapters.

I don't believe we saw the conclusion of the evil looking teacher propositioning Elf teacher. We only saw evil guy ask if Elf wanted to ruin Washio and Elf teacher just kind of gave a look before it transitioned to a new scene. Looking back, the proposition happens on the last page of Chapter 24 and we don't see his response. In Chapter 26 we see Elf teacher express concern over Washio fraternizing with the monster girls a bit too much and seeming to give him genuine advice (he of course throws in a smug jab as you'd expect but it's very tame compared to his usual jabs). To me this seems to confirm that the Elf teacher knows someone is out to get him and he wants no part in it, even going so far as subtley warning Washio to be careful.

He also throws in a line about "not knowing how long he's been involved with monster girls" implying that part of the previous proposition was the evil guy revealing a bit of info to Elf teacher about Washio's past deeds (but leaving out important context). I don't know...maybe I'm just to hopeful for Elf teacher to not be a moustache twirling villain and have some actual depth but there seems to be too much evidence pointing towards him aiding Washio at some point.

I also agree that the Dragon Girl was introduced poorly seeing as she's either unlikeable as an antagonist who would ruin Washio's career for her own personal feelings or her personality is unreliable since she's already under some sort of mind control or coercion. They really should have established her as a character first and then had this arc instead of shoving both into the same narrative.

The stakes kinda fade when you realize he can just get a better job if he gets fired + the girls will most likely follow him wherever he goes so he loses effectively nothing.

Yeah, I'll admit that they feel like the next Team Rocket, but without any iconic flare to make things interesting.
It's just been a mindless assault on his wellbeing, and this James reject is using some malicious means while partnered with that traitorous dragon.

The only question I have for the author is why would the girls stay at a school they explicitly joined because of Washio if he is removed as a teacher? There is literally zero benefit for them to do so, anyone with a brain should be able to understand this. It really undercuts the entire pushing Washio out plotline because unless there are some conditions restricting the monstergirls to that school there is absolutely no tension here about the result, just irritation that the author keeps trying to force it instead of you know focusing on Washio overcoming his PTSD and overcoming his past. No one gives a damn about the Elf Sensei, no one cares about the other students(how many have even gotten names so far, 2?), everyone is either reading this for the monstergirls or the hope that Washio will start to overcome his past and stop being a net negative for the manga.

Story arcs like this make me forget why I’m reading this series in the first place.

They literally don't even need to put up with it cus they can just be celebs/queens outside of it. Like we know aria is rich already and can take care of them all as is if she wants.
