Plague would've been a way cooler ending though, she brings in an infected corpse to get back at them all. This is the true translation. With the previous translation, people were waaaay too focused on the whole plague theory. I don't think the commoner nor the slave contracted the plague. He simply died from gangrene or head trauma when he got kicked. And the ending implies that the boundless energy that Slave-chan has and used to pursuing being a slave with will now be directed at getting vengeance against the kingdom that treated the commoner so poorly.
Oh, and Shorts man is probably the same guy that got hit by a hammer in Slave-chan's flashback. That's much clearer in this translation.
I mean, he drank the poisoned water from the village wells right? Maybe that’s how he died? This is the true translation. Did he? I dont recall. That was some kind of natural contaminant, though. He had been in a very bad state for quite some time, with his leg turning black from gangrene. That's very fatal. But the last thing that happened to him was that he got kicked repeatedly in the head, while already very sick from his wound. I think it's like that moment that killed him.I mean, he drank the poisoned water from the village wells right? Maybe that’s how he died?
yea here and on Reddit people seem deadset on this plague idea, but the commoner never shows signs of it and its never mentioned of him showing signs, he definitely dies from the blows to the head and it seems like the cat was the carrier for the plague in this scenario hence why the knight kills it, honestly I wish hamita would stop with the shaggy dog stories. This is the true translation. I mean it did conclude though the commoner dies the shorts knight leaves because the kingdom is falling to ruin, the only real open end is what becomes of the slave and the kingdom riddled with plague. maybe she dies there(I think she probably does) as well? does she find a new master? who knows but other than that its a fine ending. What the hell is wrong with Hamita's endings? His tragic or happy endings are always disappointing and conclude absolutely nothing.
