I think its pretty easy to figure out. His mom doesn’t care for him and either he’s working at that club to pay for her bills or to take care of himself. He wants to eat her lunch as he never had anyone that cared for him and bothered to do it.

Even if you're put off by the subject matter, maybe give this manga a try. A lot of these "prostitution tragedy" melodramas are a waste of time, but this one is written like an actual story.

I think this manga does a good job of portraying three broken kids. I just wish it was given a longer run since it feels a bit rushed. It needs more build of the relationships and some more backstory of Sou and Asahina.
