Well it does sometimes. Physical appearances have nothing to do with being a twin. While 2 people looking identical is almost exclusive to being at least a twin, it is not required to be defi ed as being one. All a twin means is that at one point, you and your twin were either once the same zygote, which at one point, divided into 2 embryos somewhere early on in the process of pregnancy, or you both were firtalized at the same time, but with 2 different eggs and 2 different sperm.

In other words, as long as you both were born at more or less the same time, you count as being twins.
